All the heat is onGame Freak. With the last Pokemon Presents having passed with no news of a new remake, or even a new main series game, fans are beginning to wonder what the next series of remakes will look like.

For many players, the Generation Four remakeswere a letdown; they were extremely faithful to the original games but kept very few of the improvements made byPokemon Platinum. Saying that, there are several waysGame Freakcouldimprove the remake formulain time for the re-imaginings of Unova that could help bring the games to the standardPokemonfans have come to expect, while also improving onPokemon: Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearl.
10A More Advanced Art Style
Pokemon Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlwere faithful remakes that kept a very similar art style to the originals. This allowed for far cleaner and higher definition, while still being recognizable as the very same viewing angle players had since 2007. This disappointed fans, as it didn’t allow them to see Sinnoh from a newly updated angle, ashad been the casewithPokemon:Omega RubyandAlpha Sapphire.
The Unova of thePokemon: BlackandWhiteremakes will need to be one that’s rendered in a new art style, for fans to be happy.

9Including The Story Of The Sequels
The story ofPokemon Diamond and Pearlwas advanced and improved upon inPokemon Platinum, so it was a shame for players to see none of those improvements included in the remakes.Pokemon: BlackandWhite’s sequels,Black 2andWhite 2were a massive expansion to the stellarPokemonadventure already included in the originals.

It would be a massive shame if these stories weren’t included in the remakes, as they would certainly entice more fans to make the jump and purchase.
8Embracing The Improvements Made By The Sequels
Among the improvements to the story made inBlackandWhite, the sequels also included gameplay improvements. Balancing improvements, a challenge mode, andbetter Pokemon varietywere just a few of the major gameplay changes made in the sequels.
Brilliant DiamondandShining Pearlfailed to take advantage of the vastly improvedPlatinumgameplay, as Sinnoh’s first outings were notoriously short of fire-type Pokemon, and so many players still refer toPlatinumas the definitive Generation Four experience.

7An Original Difficulty Option
Generation Five wasn’t the most challenging of all generations to begin with, and the EXP share threatens to make this, even more, the case with its addition.
6More Stories Around The Mythicals
Generation Five is notorious for having very little fanfare aroundits mythical Pokemon. A remake could give Game Freak the chance to build up the fanfare around these mythicals, and properly flesh out their storylines and place in the region. For example, a quest line about finding and obtaining Victini could be just one of a few new quest lines included in the remakes.

Mythical Pokemon have always been special to obtain, and nothing would make them more special than a new story or side mission based around them while offering explanations and legends as to why these Pokemon are so unique.
5Preserving The Original Side Activities
The Generation 4 remakes didn’t preserve the original gameplay features of the 2007 games. Instead, they altered them, shortening them down to make beauty contests a grind activity. The Generation 5 remakes have the option to keepthe original side activitiesofBlack and Whitesuch as the Battle Subway, and they absolutely should.
For a remake to keep the same spirit as the games they’re replacing, it’s important for them to also be able to keep the same quirks that players enjoyed when the games were originally released.

4Including Ranked Battling
Ranked Battles have been a staple ofPokemonsince online battling was first introduced. It was a letdown to longtime fans that the feature wasn’t included in theDiamondandPearlremakes, as it was then introduced toScarletandVioleta year later.
A chance to climb the competitive ladder would really add to the replayability of theBlack and Whiteremakes, as it would persuade people to usefeatures such as breedingand EV stat building to create the teams of their dreams.

3Adding New Ways To Experience The Region
One of the most compelling reasons to buy a remake is that it offers a chance to experiencean old mapin a new way. For instance,Pokemon Legends: Arceusis set on an old map but is filled to the brim with new ways to explore it. Having Pokemon the player is able to ride is a big way to enable returning players to experience Unova in a refreshing way.
There could also be new side activities or new fashion options, both working together to create a completely newPokemonexperience in a familiar setting.

2Adding Multiplayer
This one’s a long shot, but the ability for players to run around with their friends was a big selling point forScarlet and Violet, so it could realistically be included in the new remakes as well. The only thing better than experiencing something new alone is experiencing something new with a friend, after all.
Multiplayer could even be extended to enable players to take part in double battles together, or to allow them to witness the same cutscenes.

1Adding The Generational Gimmick
Pokemonhas had gimmicks in nearly every generation, and Generation 9 was no different. Terrastylization could be another feature included in the Generation 5 remakes that could swing even more players toward them. This would even add the possibility ofTerra Raid Battles.
When thinking of features to add to a newPokemongame, especially a remake of one so beloved, the possibilities are truly endless.
