As fans anticipate Insomniac’s sequel to the critically acclaimedMarvel’s Spider-Man(2018), reveals so far have hinted at a story that will likely be a rollercoaster ride for players. Off the back ofMarvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2looks set to take both its main characters, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, on a new arc and journey, with tensions building considering the introduction of Venom and Peter having the Symbiote take over.

While there is still much to be revealed in both gameplay and particularly the story in this circumstance, fans have seen enough to suggest that noteverybody among the main cast will be safe on this occasion, and the stakes will be much higher, especially for Peter Parker.
5Battle With Harry Osborn/Venom
Despite the hints during the most recent trailer, it is still possible that Insomniac may be tricking fans into believing that Harry Osborn is Venom inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. If it is so, fans may very well be on their way to witness another adaptation of the confrontation between Peter Parker and his best friend.
Many who are familiar with the comics and theSam RaimiSpider-Manmovies, will be aware of Peter and Harry’s fallout after the death of the Green Goblin, who is his father, with Peter assumed to be responsible. Although the same plot of the two friends eventually becoming enemies appears to be present here, too, this could be vastly different if Harry Osborn truly is Venom in this story. This would lead to an emotional battle between Peter and Harry, controlled by Venom, likely leaving either of them incredibly damaged or, worse, dead.
4Battle With Miles
Based on the initial gameplay segment ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, many fans made the assumption that Miles Morales will eventually have to summon the courage to face Symbiote Peter himself. IfSymbiote Peter is as powerful as fans will know of through other adaptations, it would be an intense encounter for Miles to say the least, depending on how much of Peter is still left once used as a host.

Aside from attempting to remove the Venom Symbiote himself, it is highly unlikely for another other character to take Peter down, but Miles. While Kraven is certainly a threat, the powers and capabilities within Miles leave him as one of the few options to stop a rampant and dangerous Peter.
3Sidelined For Miles
As Peter in Insomniac’s adaptation has clearly spent a great amount of time working as Spider-Man, standing as a veteran,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2could prepare fans to see Miles become front and central of the overarching plot. Whether this would be during a major portion of the game itself, particularly if Symbiote Peter is out of control, orsomething that is set up for future installments, it would not be a surprise for Miles to take over the mantle.
While some may feel it may be too early for this to occur, the events ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2may spell the end for Peter for some time, especially if something tragic happens to him or someone else through his own actions.Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Moralesproved that the series can certainly still be a major success without Peter Parker, so this could be a huge possibility.
2Potential Death
As aforementioned, Insomniac has given fans a taste of what a story could contain onceMiles Morales takes up the mantle of Spider-Mandespite it only being temporary, butMarvel’s Spider-Man 2could go all the way with this. Not only are there multiple villains supposedly ready to take Peter’s head at any given opportunity, especially Kraven, but Venom and potentially Peter himself stand as the biggest danger to his survival.
Whether this could come through sacrificial means or a battle to the death with whomever, witnessing Peter Parker’s death inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2is one that fans should, at the very least, expect in one form or another. Considering the darker tone Insomniac is going with this time around, this is one of the likely endings for the beloved character.
1Becoming Venom
One of the biggest twists that could come to light despite the revealed concept art of Peter and Miles facing off against Venom is for Peter to be the one who loses himself and becomes Venom. It remains unclear which stage the gameplay trailer that features Symbiote Peter and the concept art is placed within the game, but based on many titles such asThe Last of Us 2luring fans into believing Joel would be present in players' journeys, Insomniac could be doing the same here with Harry and Venom.
Many fans feel as though it is far too obvious for Harry to be Venom, leaving some returning to original suggestions and theories thatPeter Parker may take on the full role as Venom towards the final stages of the game. While ambitious and certainly a twist that could surprise all fans, the chances are not completely out of the realm of possibility just yet.
