In the video, the developers claim that this is a new era inCall of Duty, putting an emphasis on this being the first free-to-playCall of Dutygame for the Infinity Ward and Raven Software teams. They loved the idea of playing in a huge open world, while still preserving the classicCall of Dutyfeel. They also wanted to maintain the cross-play used inModern Warfare, even asstreamers like Shroud have mentioned that cross-play is unfair inWarzone.

The developers wanted to make sure thatWarzonewas different than other battle royales. While they have enjoyed the genre, they wanted to put their own spin on it, and that they did. They added an in-game currency system, a unique respawn mechanic, and contracts that can be accomplished in the middle of a match. All of these things helpWarzonestand-out from other battle royales.

One of the innovations is the Gulag, a place where players have a second chance to return to the battlefield upon dying.  There are a few ways tooutsmart the opponent in the Gulag, but the idea that players aren’t instantly dead for good, and stuck simply spectating their buddies for the rest of the game, is part of what makes it distinctive.

The video itself is explosive, colorful, and dynamic, much like the experiences in the game itself. Trying to survive inWarzoneis more than skill, it takes teamwork, a plan, and strategy. It also takes a proper loadout, which is something else that is innovative in the game. Havingthe best loadout inWarzonecan be the difference between victory and defeat.

The developers also mention in the video thatWarzonewill continue to evolve, which is something fans should be happy to hear. Recently a solo mode was added, a rumored high-action mode may be on the way, andmore guns are being added toWarzoneas well. The game has seen massive success so far, so as players continue to enjoy the new battle royale, expect Activision to continue to support the title moving forward.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
