With the return of live fans,All Elite Wrestlinghas been filling up arenas across the United States with its AEW Dynamite and Rampage shows. These fans have displayed a clear passion for theAEWproduct, with one of the loudest pops ever coming during CM Punk’s AEW debut in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. But while most of the crowd is focused on the in-ring action, other fans have been using their TV time to argue about video games.
Fanmade AEW signs arguing about JRPGs have become commonplace, to the point where one is spotted at nearly every show. A lot of the signs have beenarguing about the quality ofFinal Fantasygames, though other signs have focused on different franchises, like one that claimedDragon Warrior Monstersis better thanPokemon. The latest AEW fan sign referencing video games was front-and-center on the Friday, September 3 edition of AEW Rampage.

This latest AEW sign wasn’t arguing about whichFinal Fantasygames are the best or ifDragon Warrior Monstersis better thanPokemonor not. Instead the sign simply asks for aMother 3localization, something that Nintendo fans have been wanting to see for years. Not content to simply bring a sign making this demand, though, the person sitting front-row with the localizeMother 3sign went all out, even cosplaying as Ness from theMotherseries.
For those who may not know,Mother 3is the latest entry in theEarthBoundfranchise from Nintendo (EarthBoundis what it’s known as outside of Japan). The quirky RPG series has been fairly niche throughout its lifespan, which is part of the reason whyMother 3has never been localized. In fact, it’s been 15 years sinceMother 3’s original launch in Japan on the Game Boy Advance, and there’s still been no news about a possible localization.
While someEarthBoundfans may have given up on an officialMother 3localization long ago, there’s still hope that it could happen at some point down the line. After all, the originalMothergame wasn’t localized until 26 years after its original release, eventuallybrought to the Wii U asEarthBound Beginnings. Fans shouldn’t hold their breath, but anything is possible and it stands to reason that a localization could come eventually, especially if fan demand remains high.
In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if there are any other video game-related signs at the next AEW show. AEW will be hosting its All Out pay-per-view event on Sunday, September 5, with a stacked card that includes CM Punk’s first pro wrestling match in seven years as he faces off againstDarby Allin.
