Unlike theFantastic Fourand to some extent theX-Men,Spider-Manhad the benefit of having a trilogy of movies that are still remembered quite fondly by many. So much so that Sam Raimi’s Spidey films serve as inspiration for constant fan art, especially with the amount of hype surroundingSpider-Man: No Way Home.
While the last of Raimi’sSpider-Manmovies clearly doesn’t hold up the same way in the eyes of fans, the first two helped unlock the billion-dollar market that is today’s superhero film genre. Of course, it also helps that Raimi’s movies have some of the most emotionally gripping moments inSpider-Man’s relatively broad film history, two of which have been beautifully captured to honor the web swinger’s origins in print.

Thanks to artist WhyNotStuff (@WhyNotStuff),Raimi’sSpider-Mangets a comic book twistthat makes some scenes from the movie look completely ageless. This is something that the films cannot quite achieve given their late 2000s special effects. The first of these is obviously from the firstSpider-Manmovie featuring the epic showdown scene between Peter Parker and Norman Osborn, a.k.a. the Green Goblin, right before the latter’s murderous impulses lead to his own death.
The level of detail in this comic book rendition is quite astonishing, as it even captures Spider-Man’s torn mask, is issued with an accurate May 2002 date, and it’s even captioned with Peter’s quote to honor uncle Ben. The second cover art features a shot from one of the most exciting sequences inSpider-Man 2and one that could be a bit familiar whenNo Way Homepremieres, as the trailer already features a high-speed train chase.
Though Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock is nowhere to be seen in this one, the impact of it is nonetheless the same given the way the artist managed to capture the expression on Tobey Maguire’s face. These two fan-made covers could not come at a better time, consideringSpider-Man: No Way Homeconfirmed the Green Goblinin its first official poster and recent leaks fueled more rumors involving Maguire and Andrew Garfield, despite the latter’s complicated relationship with theSpider-Manfranchise.
That said, with Dafoe’s return as part ofthis near-Sinister Six lineupall but confirmed now, any other piece ofSpider-Maninformation should be taken with a grain of salt, especially now that Charlie Cox’s name has surfaced again as the potential face behind that epic cameo teased by Holland.
