In the same Twitter thread where it confirmed that there would beno preload forBaldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios advised that fans delete the save files, mods, and early access version of the game so that they can do a fresh install come August 3. WhileBaldur’s Gate 3’s massive file size means players are still in for a long wait on release day, taking these steps should prevent any additional hiccups that could potentially make it take even longer for players to jump into the highly-anticipated game.

As for when fans can playBaldur’s Gate 3, the game officially releases at 8am PT on August 3. ConsideringBaldur’s Gate 3’s massive 122 GB file size, some fans may want to get the download going in the morning and plan on playing it tomorrow night.

Of course, only PC gamers will get to playBaldur’s Gate 3on August 3.Baldur’s Gate 3is also coming to PS5, but the PS5 version of the game won’t be launching until September 6. TheXbox version ofBaldur’s Gate 3, meanwhile, is without a release date at all. While there’s some hope that it will drop by the end of the year, it’s starting to look like the Xbox version ofBaldur’s Gate 3will slip into 2024.
