Bandai, through the officialGundamwebsite and YouTube account, announceda new set of merchandiseforGundam: The Witch from Mercury. The new merch is a set of cute ties that are used by the main protagonists in the series, and also a premium tool bag.
The design of the ties comes from the uniform of the students of the Asticassia School of Technology. The first one is the standard ties that most students use, includingone of the main protagonists, Miorine Rembran. It is a red tie with a black line near the lower end. The other one is a special tie that is only used by the best duelist in the school, also known as the Holder. It’s a gold tie with the same black line near the lower end of the tie. This special tie is only used by the main protagonist ofGundam: The Witch From Mercury, Suletta Mercury.

Unlike the ties, the premium tool bag is not an item that is used by the characters in the anime. It is a new product that is specifically designed for this new line of merchandise. Similar to the ties, the overall design of the bag is quite minimalist.
Other than the iconic blue color of Gundam Aerial andthe logo for the Gund-Arm Inc., there are not many stand-out design elements that can be seen on the bag. The inside, however, certainly lives up to its name as a tool bag. There are a lot of compartments and slip pockets that come in different sizes in the bag to make sure you’re able to put a lot of items inside.
The announcement also mentioned the limited amount of products that can be pre-ordered for this first batch of merchandise. 20 pcs per order, and 20 pcs per person. So it’s highly likely that the merch will be sold out not long after the announcement.
TheGundam: The Witch from Mercuryitself is still ongoing right now. To be more precise, it’s currently in the middle of the second season. So the viewers' attention, particularly the long-term fans of the Gundam franchise, is solely on the series at this moment. Which makes it the perfect time to release a new line of products.
The Gundam franchise, and also Bandai for that matter, is notoriously famous for creating a new Gundam series in order to sell physical products. The most common product is theplastic model, also known as Gunpla, of the Gundam that is featured in the ongoing series. As a matter of fact, Bandai has released quite a few new Gunpla for theGundam: The Witch from Mercuryline throughout the course of the series. And we can certainly expect more Gunpla, and other kinds of merchandise, in the near future.
