Summary
Claymore was the most favored weapon at the start ofGenshin Impact, thanks to Diluc and Razor. However, as the game progresses, other weapons have gotten their chance to shine, increasing the distribution of the most favored option. Now, each weapon has its own star, like Ganyu with her Bow orHu Taowith her Polearm.
Meanwhile, when it comes toClaymore users, the top options include characters likeEula,Arataki Itto, andBeidou. However, when they’re all compared with each other, which of them is thebest Claymore characterinGenshin Impact?

Updated on July 21, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah:AsGamingmakes it into the list of Claymore users in Genshin Impact, this piece needs to be updated to include the Sword and Strongbox Transport Guard. Additionally, as the mechanics and meta evolve, it’s necessary to update the ranking of some characters as they rise to become meta or fall to sit next toDehya. Luckily, Gaming resides at the higher end of the list next to one of the best Claymore characters in Genshin Impact.
15Xinyan
Split Scaling And Unclear Role
Xinyan is the first character that deals Physical damage with herElemental Burst inGenshin Impact. Because of this, the Musician shouldn’t be built on Pyro damage. In fact, Xinyan’s poor Pyro application is her most significant negative.
As a Support, Xinyan can be a Sub-DPS with some supportive abilities. She only needs to join the field to cast her Skill and Burst, which can deal an acceptable amount of damage. Additionally, Xinyan’s Vision qualifies her to activate the Pyro Resonance if paired with another Pyro character. With the lack of damage and a kit that’s all over the place, Xinyan, unfortunately, ranks last among Claymore wielders.

14Sayu
Just Another Healer But With A Fun Roll
Split-scaling is also one of Sayu’s issues. She can heal the active fighter based on her Attack or heal all off-field characters based on her Elemental Mastery (if she triggers Swirl). Although healing is her area of expertise, many characters can perform better in her field. For example,Jean and Noelle can heal and deal damagesimultaneously. Meanwhile, Sayu can’t deal enough damage to earn her spot. Despite having fun gameplay, sadly, the Shuumatsuban Ninja has to be placed in the bottom ranks.
13Dori
Raiden Shogun And Kuki Shinobu Exist
Being a Battery/Healer Support has its benefits, but other than that, Dori doesn’t really offer anything else. If you need an Electro healer, then Kuki is your best choice. If you need an Electro enabler for your Hyperbloom team comp, then Kuki is also your best bet. Both 4-star characters have almost similar purposes and roles, which makeDori an easy-to-let-go unit inGenshin Impact.
12Kaveh
Overcomplicated Bloom Mechanic
The Renowned Sumeru Architect should play inBloom teams inGenshin Impact, which limits the number of characters that can be added to his team comps. His playstyle revolves around him exploding Dendro Cores on the field with his Elemental Skill so that players don’t have to wait until the Cores explode on their own. This mechanic would have been nice if Nilou didn’t already exist with a far simpler Bountiful Cores mechanic.
In short,Kaveh’skit isn’t that bad, but the problem is that there are characters that do everything better. Not only Nilou with her powerful Bloom mechanics, but Nahida also makes it hard for any Dendro unit to shine, as she covers everything Dendro-related in team comps.

11Noelle
Jack-Of-All-Trades But Master-Of-None
AlthoughNoelle can do everything like shielding, healing, and dealing decent damage, she’s at best average in everything she does. This is the same case as Jean, where she’s the Jack of All Trades, but the Master of None.
Noelle can shield but her Elemental Skill cooldown is really long; can heal but needs her shield to be active to do it; can deal damage but needs her Elemental Burst to do it, yet has no ability to create Elemental Particles. One saving grace is the fact that Noelle has a unique passive that allows her to emergency shield the active character once they reach 30% HP. It makes up for her Elemental Skill’s high cooldown.

The Favonius Maid is mostly viable after players earn her C6. Even then, she needs fantastic artifacts to be able to stay on the field without causing a DPS loss to her team. Because of this, Noelle can’t rank higher on the list.
10Dehya
Gold-Forged Form Needs A Buff
The Unfettered Desert Mercenary release caused a major disappointment in theGenshincommunity due to how badly she was performing. Later on, a new set of artifacts was added to improve her performance, but they weren’t enough to save her kit. As a5-star character inGenshin Impact, Dehya underperforms in every single field she’s supposed to excel in.
Dehya’s Elemental Skill is supposed to protect her team while providing some Pyro applications. Well, that doesn’t work since her Pyro can be triggered once every 2.5 seconds, which is very slow compared to other characters. Even Xiangling, who is a 4-star free character, is leagues better than Dehya, which is disappointing. Meanwhile, the damage mitigation is nice, but she greatly lacks protection from interruptions as her Gold-Forged Form only lasts for a short time.

9Chongyun
No ICD No Problem
Chongyun is mainly a Sub-DPS that relies on his Elemental Burst to deal most of his damage. The low scaling on his Normal and Charged Attacks prevents the Exorcist from carrying the role of main DPS.
However, despite being a Sub-DPS,Chongyun cannot fit in well with other charactersdue to his Elemental Skill’s Frost Field. Characters in his field will have their weapon infused with Cryo, which is fine for Cryo users like Ayaka, but a nightmare for other melee characters like Keqing and Razor. All these contradictions affect Chongyun’s performance in team comps, resulting in him being at the current rank.

8Freminet
Like Eula Without Her Elemental Burst
Freminetcomes off as a surprise when it comes to his damage dealing ability. With Pers' assistance, Freminet can deal great Physical damage with some Cryo hits on the way. After the diver casts his Elemental Burst, he can use his Skill more often, thus allowing Pers to continuously deal damage.
Of course, Freminet’s damage is nowhere near Eula’s, but Freminet’s entire kit can fare well with Eula who’s only using Normal Attack, which isn’t a bad feat for a 4-star unit, especially considering how often Eula misses her Elemental Burst anyway.

7Razor
Thank You Dendro
Before Eula,Razor was considered the best Physical DPS. Their Vision, Cryo, and Electro are the best for Physical characters, as it’s easy for them to trigger Superconduct. However, unlike the Favonius Knight, Razor is far more selfish as a DPS.
The Wolf Boy’s Elemental Burst took his damage to another level, where he gains an attack speed buff and continuous Electro damage. However, once swapped out, Razor loses all the buffs. Considering his selfishness, players have to compose a team around Razor.

Thanks to Dendro, Razor is now more viable in a team that revolves around Dendro Elemental Reactions.
6Gaming
Didn’t Give Diluc A Chance To Enjoy Plunging
As a Claymore user, it’s so satisfying to see Gaming Plunge attacking his way into every combat. That big weapon was made to terrify enemies with attacks like these. What makes Gaming different and unique from other Plunge attackers likeXiaoandXianyunis his ability to trigger Pyro reaction and multiply his Plunge attacks into enormous numbers. Once Gaming takes the field and triggers Vaporize or Melt, his Plunge attacks will showcase why he ranked so high as one of the best Claymore characters inGenshin Impact.
