World of Warcraft: Dragonflightis launching with eight new dungeons, and Blizzard Entertainment has finally given them their time in the spotlight. Over the span of eighteen years and several expansions, dungeons inWorld of Warcrafthave evolvedconsiderably, but no change has quite had an effect as the introduction of Mythic Keystones inLegion– the natural evolution of Challenge Mode Dungeons, and inspired by Greater Rifts fromDiablo 3.

InMythic Season 1 forDragonflight, players will only have a chance to experience half of the newly introduced dungeons, with the other half arriving in Mythic Season 2. Much likeShadowlands, it will launch with four leveling dungeons, and four max level dungeons. One of these is a reworked version of Uldaman, and is already available to players since the pre-patch.

In order to introduce and familiarize players with the new dungeons ofDragonflight, Blizzard Entertainment decided to put together an overview of these eight instances. First among them is the Ruby Life Pools, a holy sanctum guarded by the Red Dragonflight, and the players are supposed to thwart Raszageth and her Primalists from profaning the pools with her power. The second dungeon is Neltharus, the treasure hoard of theBlack Dragonflightlocated underneath the Obsidian Citadel.

The next dungeon is a return to an oldWorld of Warcraftclassic: Brackenhide Hollow, the largest Gnome settlement on the Dragon Isles, pits the players against this iconic mongrel race that once gave fans Hogger. The Azure Vault is a max level dungeon ofDragonflight, and very evocative of the Coldaradungeons inWrath of the Lich King, as players explore the abandoned storage halls of the Blue Dragonflight, once cataloged by Sindragosa at the behest of Malygos.

For a more unorthodox experience, players can expect to enjoy the Nokhud Offensive, a centaur-themed dungeon set on the open steppes of the Ohn’ahran Plains. Uldaman’s Legacy of Tyr version has the players fight against the iconic Lost Dwarves yet again while on a quest to recover Tyr’s memories, allegedly capable of restoring the power of the Aspects. Though players can enjoy Legacy of Tyr now, they will need to wait forDragonflight’s releaseto experience the other instances.

Lastly, the final two dungeons ofDragonflightare the Halls of Infusion and the Algeth’ar Academy. The Halls of Infusion join a surprisingly long line of “Halls” dungeons that have a Titan theme, as this complex was constructed by Tyr on an ancient wellspring to funnel the rejuvenating waters into the life pools of the Red Dragonflight. Algeth’ar Academy, on the other hand, is a more whimsical dungeon that has players aid Headteacher Doragosa in bringing this former bastion of draconic education back to its former glory.
