About two weeks ago it was teased that fan-favorite mapRust fromCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2would be added intoCall of Duty: Mobile. Yesterday, Activision announced that the map will be coming to the title, along with an update scheduled for next week via a Community Update on the r/CallOfDutyMobile subreddit.

While the Community Update does not specify exactly when players will be able to expect this addition toCall of Duty: Mobile, it will likely come sometime in early May based on the events schedule that lists it below the end of the Gun Game Team Fight and Rapid Fire modes which both expire on April 30. Rust will become a featured Multiplayer map according to the Reddit post, and a new page was uploaded to the Activision Games Blog that gives fans an overview of the map that it says has “become synonymous withCall of Duty.”

Activision has shown that it is well aware of the map’s iconic status recently, givenRust was put intoCall of Duty: Modern Warfareas a headlining addition to the game’s second season of content. The company also just put out a remastered version of the story campaign for its originating game,Modern Warfare 2.

The Reddit Community Update on April 24 also spends a good amount of time focused on player feedback, bug reports being addressed, and the recently announcedCall of Duty: MobileWorld Championship. This online tournament coming in collaboration with Sony Mobile is a big deal for what would otherwise just be a “best-of” mobile spin-off to the massive first-person shooter franchise, as it features over $1,000,000 in prize money to participants. Qualifiers for the tournament will begin on April 30.

Call of Duty: Mobilehas been receiving a number of updates and events as of late alongside the franchise’s two current main titles,Call of Duty: Modern Warfareand the battle royaleCall of Duty: Warzone. One new event offers players the chance to receivecosmetics themed with Crescent Moon iconography, including a special skin for Leni “Zero” Vogel.

That said the ongoing content drip and popularity ofCall of Duty: Mobilehas also left it susceptible to the same concerns with cheaters as the game’s bigger cousins. The developers have promised to takeswift actions against cheaters, much like howCall of Duty: Warzonerecently banned over 70,000 players.

Call of Duty Mobileis out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
