As announced by Activision, theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2release date is October 28. When that date rolls around,Call of Dutyfans will be able to jump into a new globe-trotting adventure with the returningTask Force 141, a group comprised of characters who should be familiar to those that played the 2019Modern Warfarereboot or the originalCall of Duty: Modern Warfaretrilogy of games.

Activision confirmed the Task Force 141 members that will be featured inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2come launch on October 28. The Operators will be led byCaptain John Price, who will be joined by Simon “Ghost” Riley, John “Soap” MacTavish, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and newcomer Colonel Alejandro Vargas, a Mexican Special Forces member. These characters will play key roles in theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2campaign, and it’s likely that they will be playable in multiplayer as well, though that has not been confirmed at the time of this writing.

Alternatively, the game may be featured atGeoff Keighley’s Summer Game Feston June 9 instead, or even the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase that’s scheduled for June 12. Whatever the case may be,Call of Dutyfans can likely expect more info sooner rather than later.
When theCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2reveals start coming, it will be interesting to see which leaks were accurate and which ones were not. There are heavy rumors thatModern Warfare 2will have a new mode called DMZthat’s inspired byEscape from Tarkov, but that has yet to be confirmed at the time of this writing.
