As part of the bigCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 6 update, Infinity Ward made a number of balance changes to the game. One balance change was a pretty significant C4 nerf that made the throwable equipment far less effective. Even so, someCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers may not realize just how significant the game’s C4 nerf was, but it’s illustrated well in a recent clip.

A clip shared by Charlie Intel on Twitter shows just how dramatic theC4 nerf was inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. In the clip, the player is completely unable to throw C4 through a second story window, which would have been easily done prior to the nerf. Infinity Ward indicated in the patch notes that it added a slight delay to the C4 detonation and reduced throw velocity by 30%, but did not indicate that it nerfed throw height or distance.

It’s possible that this particular aspect of theModern WarfareC4 nerf was unintentional, though that remains to be seen. Infinity Ward has not commented on the matter at the time of this writing, but if it was unintentional, fans can expect it to be fixed soon. Infinity Ward is typically pretty quick about addressing issues inModern Warfareafter the community brings the issues to its attention, like with the recentAS VAL bug, for instance.

TheCall of Duty: Modern WarfareC4 nerf is causing some serious problems in multiplayer, so one has to imagine that some changes will be on the way. Ever since the C4 nerf,Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers have been accidentally killing themselves with C4. This issue has more to do with the C4 velocity nerf that was mentioned in the patch notes, as players are used to detonating the C4 right away instead of having to wait a couple of seconds first. However, it’s possible that the seemingly secret C4 throw distance nerf is also playing a role, as the C4 may not be going quite as far as players expect, leading to premature detonations.

Prior to the C4 nerf, C4 was one of themost popularCall of Duty: Modern Warfareequipment items, to the point where it was used significantly more than most of the other equipment in the game. Considering this, it makes sense that Infinity Ward needed to nerf it, but some players think that the nerf went too far. And there are clearly some issues with the nerf, as illustrated by this clip and other videos that have been shared online.

Whether or notInfinity Wardintends on reversing at least some aspects of the C4 nerf inModern Warfareremains to be seen, but fans should keep an eye on upcoming patch notes to find out.
