Despite several nasty glitches being fixed, like a big one that made it impossible to reload while using Auto Tactical Sprint, this most recent update has fundamentally alteredModern Warfare 3’s Ranked play. Hackers recently started using an unreleased shotgun that can fire rockets inModern Warfare 3, and this off-limits weapon is now available in Ranked play as a result of this new update. Cheaters are able to take advantage of this powerful weapon in competitive game modes, with this new update also accidentally making several killstreaks available during matches.

New Modern Warfare 3 Update Breaks Ranked Matches

Players are now able to call in UAVs, which were previously restricted inModern Warfare 3Ranked play. These items have been historically banned from most competitive modes throughoutCall of Duty, but they were unexpectedly added to the mode with this latest patch.Killstreaks inModern Warfare 3, like UAVs, fundamentally change the flow of Ranked matches and are features that the mode is not necessarily balanced for. Developer Sledgehammer Games has not yet released a public statement regarding these issues, which were discovered mere hours after the update officially rolled out. It’s likely players will get updates from Activision and Sledgehammer soon, which will hopefully address these game-altering issues.
