WithCall of Duty: Warzonerecently dealing with several bugs and technical issues, it is not too surprising that balancing has taken a back seat. Unfortunately, this has led to the Bren having a long reign of terror, and someCall of Duty: Warzonefans are venting their frustrations.
The Bren has proven to be incredibly popular withCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers, as the correct loadout will make it the best long-range weapon by far. Not only does it boast the typically large magazines of the LMG class, but the Bren is also highly accurate and has low damage fall-off at range. This means it can kill enemies with a few shots even if they are far away, tearing through armor with ease and being one of the battle royale game’s most used weapons.

With the gun dominating eversinceCall of Duty: WarzonePacific launched, it would be odd if players started talking about the weapon more for no reason. Unfortunately, the latest update forCall of Duty: Warzoneis the justification for the uprise in complaints, as many were hoping that the Bren would finally be nerfed. While the patch did address a recent, accidental buff for the PPSh-41 SMG, the Bren remains unchanged, and Redditors like JustLawlyOnTwitch have been quick to point this out.
Another post on Twitter, this time from Twitch streamer @iamExpel, joked that the Bren will be dominant until Season 3. While fans can hope thatRaven Softwarewill give the weapon a much needed nerf prior to the third Season beginning, as that would be several weeks away, the joke could be more accurate than not. After all, the Bren has dominated ever since Season 1 and has remained untouched. With so much time passing and no change happening, there is no telling when a nerf will occur.
For now, it seems likely thatCall of Duty: Warzone’s meta will continue to revolve around the Bren LMG, with a clear best option being available to ranged players. While having some kind of meta makes sense inan evolving title likeCall of Duty: Warzone, players usually prefer to see new guns getting some attention every few weeks. When a gun like the Bren decimates the competition for months on end, the game becomes stale, as players only use one gun despite dozens of weapons being available.
All that theCall of Duty: Warzonecommunity can do is continue to request nerfs for the Bren and hope that Raven Software delivers. While the developer has plenty to focus on withCall of Duty: Warzone’s ranked playand a full-on sequel in the works, it is clear that the fan base has had enough of this particular weapon.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
