Call of Duty: Warzonehas always had its issues with cheaters, though recently, they have become more common than ever before. As such, someCall of Duty: Warzonefans are calling for a major cross-play change until a permanent solution can be made.

The increase in hackers comes courtesy of a new aimbot that works well on all platforms, with the cheat described as “undetectable” on consoles. Recently advertised on several YouTube channels, many cheaters seem to have purchased the cheat before Activision could take action. While thehave now been taken down, as well as some of the channels that posted them, it seems like Activision was not quick enough to stop them from spreading.

TheCall of Duty: Warzonecommunity, including those on console, have never dealt with this level of cheating. While there have been moments where the hacks are particularly troublesome, none have reached this point. Not only are gamers quitting the game, but so are streamers. For those that continue to play it, like JGOD and NICKMERCS, they are playingthe smaller Rebirth Islandexclusively. At the moment, Verdansk is unbearable, though Reddit user Sec0nd has a suggestion of how to fix it.

Pointing out that “every other game” has cheaters, the player adds that it is starting to feel as if those playing fairly are “outnumbered” by those who do not. While they have played the game every day since it released, they are now playing something else until changes are made. Though it will likely be some time beforecheating inCall of Duty: Warzonelessens, as the game still lacks proper anti-cheat software, Sec0nd is arguing for console-only cross-play. While this has been suggested in the past due to PC features like filters and an FOV slider, it now makes more sense than ever before.

While players can turn offcross-play inCall of Duty: Warzone, this prevents them from playing with their friends on other consoles. Console-only cross play would fix that issue, allowing PlayStation and Xbox users to play together while all PC gamers are grouped together. This is certainly an understandable request, as cross-play with the PC platform has led to the console versions ofCall of Duty: Warzonebeing filled with hackers. At the same time, Reddit user xxILL_ADVISEDxx makes a good point that this would essentially kill the PC community, as the platform relies on console players to limit the number of hackers in a lobby.

Clearly the game is in a tough spot, as it seems like manyCall of Duty: Warzonefanshave finally had enough of the cheating that goes on within it. Hopefully, something will be done soon, as Verdansk is infested with aimbots and wallhacks.
