Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers are no strangers to finding bugs and glitches in the game. While some of them can be very game-breaking, the latestCall of Duty: Warzonebug isn’t nearly as serious, but it is weird.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 4 bugshave frequently been front and center lately. The new Fortune’s Keep map has had players getting stuck on terrain, players glitching underneath the map itself, a bug that covers players' screens with the “Return to Map” overlay for the entire match, and more, so it’s understandable that people would be frustrated with yet another bug, no matter how simple.

One of severalCall of Duty: Warzoneoperator bugs, this particular bug was found when a player used a finishing move on their opponent while playing as the operator Charly. While the actual function of the finishing move was not affected at all, the visual of it very much was. Normally, the British operator would pull out her handgun and execute the enemy by pulling the trigger herself, but in this case the operator’s gun appears to take on a life of its own. The weapon floats into the air and fires at the enemy character without any input from Charly whatsoever.
This animation bug is another in an unfortunately long list of bugs plaguing Season 4 of the popular Battle Royale shooter. While it’s thankfully not as game-breaking as spawning ina horde of zombies on Fortune’s Keepor some of the other previously-mentioned bugs, it can still be frustrating to players. Visual bugs, of course, are not as impactful as bugs that affect gameplay, but finishing moves that players paid for should function as advertised.
Game-breaking bugs should definitely be prioritized on the list of things to fix, but it’s important that Raven Software make sure that things like finishing moves and other cosmetics remain relatively bug free. These features are a key part of the package that keeps players engaged and coming back to the game. If these bugs become too widespread, it could add to the frustration created by actual gameplay issues caused by cosmetics, likethe new Night Terror Florence skinthat some players claim is pay to win.
Of course, cosmetics aren’t everything in a game, and there are always players who don’t spend money on skins or finishing moves. That demographic is no doubt less concerned about any of the cosmetic visual bugs, since they don’t play with them. A lot of people do like to spend money to deck out their operators and make theirCall of Duty: Warzoneexperience their own though, so even minor bugs like this one can still be important.
