Helicopters provide vital and fast transport across the map inCall of Duty: Warzone. While some players avoid them due to the danger of giving away their position, others see the advantage of transporting the entire squad at once.

Recently fans have noticed that it is surprisingly easy to destroy these flying transports. Although the helicopters inCall of Duty: Warzonehave flares to throw heat-seeking missiles, there seems to be a much larger threat present, though not many are sure where the problem originated, leading many to blame the last patch for the small adjustment.

A video posted on Reddit by user aur0n shows a helicopter taking off when it is suddenly blown up by a rocket. The kill cam shows an RPG-7 being aimed at the building that the helicopter is taking off from; flares go off and the helicopter begins to ascend when the rocket is fired clearly showing a hit marker. Closer inspection of the video shows the hit marker several meters away from the helicopter, with the point of contact well below the players. Still, thatcaused the helicopter to explodealong with all of its passengers.

Multiple explanations for this occurrence have appeared in the comments below the post. Most fans agree that since the kill cam is a server replay of what happened then it is possible that the blast impact of the rocket destroyed the helicopter. If that is true then the power of the blast is extremely high and able to reduce a helicopter at half health to zero rather fast. This brings into question both the accuracy and blast radius of explosives inWarzone, with exploits like thecluster strike trickmaking them too deadly.

The other interpretation fans have come up with is that the hitbox of the helicopter itself is way too big. Damage that can affect it is scaled out to a wide radius making it particularly susceptible to explosives. There have been recorded instances of some insaneRPG impacts inWarzoneat extreme ranges. If that is true then the destructive potential of an explosive against a vehicle is extremely unbalanced. Almost every blast radius could impact the helicopter and cause significant damage.

ForCall of Duty: Warzonefans, the viability of helicopter transport is at stake. As the current build stands, explosive radiuses combined with the hitbox of the helicopter result in very little damage fall off when impacting the vehicle. It was not too long ago that theRPG was buffed secretlyin the game, reducing the damage radius, but increasing base damage.

Fans are hoping that Infinity Ward can fix the hitbox radius of the helicopter itself rather than adjusting explosives before the next season. For now, player explosives will remain a problem, but with the possibility of theWarzonemap being nuked, bigger changes may be coming to the game.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
