As part of a new collaboration with the mega-popular gameRoblox, Chipotle Mexican Grill has opened a new virtual location within the title that can net players a free burrito. This crossover is meant to take the place of the annual “Boorito” event that Chipotle has held for over two decades. Since the pandemic, customers can no longer crowd into a location in costume and Chipotle has opted to hold the event in a digital format withRoblox.

The “Boorito” event plays out withinRobloxis similar to how it would operate at actual Chipotle restaurants. Players can visit the virtual Chipotle location that has been created withinRobloxto try to net themselves a free burrito. Participating grants players a code that will give them a free burrito at a real-world Chipotle location. While this is not thefirst eventRobloxhas been a part of, it is the first food-related one.

From October 28 through October 31, beginning at 3:30 pm PT / 6:30 pm ET each day, the first 30,000Robloxusers who visit the cashier in the virtual Chipotle restaurant will receive a free burrito code for use on orders at Chipotle or Chipotle.com. This timed event is to mimic going trick-or-treating. Players will need to dress up their avatar to receive a code.

Before entering the virtual store, users will also be invited to try out some of the Chipotle-themed costumes, including Burrito Mummy, Chip Bag Ghost, Guacenstein, and more. After collecting their offer, gamers enter the Chipotle Boorito Maze, where they can uncover and collect special ingredients. Players morefamiliar withRoblox’s special eventsknow collecting these will give players powers to ward off monsters and reach the maze’s center. Those who make it to the center of the maze will be rewarded with exclusive Chipotle-inspiredRobloxitems.

Chipotle’s proceeds from the sale of in-game items will be donated to support young farmers. Plus, to continue the tradition of its classic Boorito event, if users are unable to score any free food, Chipotle is still offering a perk.
