What is Call of Duty: Vanguard’s 3-Line Rifle?

While the 3-Line Rifle may be an unfamiliar name to some, the weapon itself should ring a bell to long-timeCall of Dutyfans. The 3-Line Rifle is more commonly referred to inCall of Dutyspaces as the Mosin-Nagant, and it is known for being one of the best snipers inCall of Duty: World at Waronline. InCall of Duty: Vanguard, the 3-Line Rifle’s usefulness is no exception, as it has been earmarked by some as an early contender for the best sniper in the game. Stiff competition arrives from another World War 2 favorite in the likes of the Kar98k, but for now, the 3-Line Rifle appears to be the better sniper.

While the options are comparatively limited, it seems as though snipers are once again a popular and viable option inCall of Duty. The return of classicCall of Dutyfavorites among the sniper lineup most definitely doesn’t harm their popularity amongCoDfans looking for a bit of nostalgia.

While the 3-Line Rifle is undoubtedly the most powerful of theCall of Duty: Vanguardsnipers, offering a one-shot kill almost anywhere on the body, it falls short in other areas. Notably, the weapon is heavy, which acts as a bit of a give and take between power and handling. However, this also makes it more laborious to use, and players may struggle initially with the aim down sight speed in particular. Dipping intoCall of Duty: Vanguard’sGunsmith, however, can massively improve the sniper’s performance, putting it more in line with what can be expected from the Kar98k and the Type 99.

Fortunately,Call of Duty: Vanguard’sPolina Petrovahas the 3-Line Rifle as her favorite weapon, meaning players will receive an XP boost while using the weapon as her and will unlock the guns attachments faster. The primary focus of 3-Line Rifle users should be to improve aim down sight speed, and there are a number of attachments that do this, with minor downsides elsewhere.

The 207MM Voz Carbine barrel, ZAC Custom MZ stock, Mark VI Skeletal, and Leather Grip all offer improvements to ADS speed, without sacrificing too many other aspects of the gun itself. With such an improved ADS speed, the 3-Line Rifle should become not only one of the best snipers, but one of the best weapons inCall of Duty: Vanguard.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
