When it comes to horror series with iconic characters to joinDead by Daylight, a franchise likeThe Conjuringmight not be the first that comes to mind for most players. However, as the recent leak has pointed toThe Conjuringcontentcoming in an upcoming chapter, players have been quick to guess who might be the best option to join as a new survivor to go toe to toe with horror icons like Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers.
For those only familiar with the mainlineThe Conjuringfilms, the list of monsters, demons, and killers is surprisingly large when looking at the extended series of movies related to the items in the Warrens' basement. This is a similar case when it comes to the regular people who could joinDead by Daylightas a survivor that players would want to run from generator to generator with, and hopefully avoid getting hooked as.

There are some obvious choices for who to include in the upcoming chapter, several of which could work better or worse as long as they are coupled with the right killer. So, depending on who Behavior Interactive decides to add toDead by Daylightas a killer, the developer could have an easy choice on their hands or the more complex task of pulling from a series without a more concrete protagonist. In the case of introducing killers like Valak the Nun, then the more ordinary humans that would work with other villains have changed from movie to movie.

An Uncorrupted Nun to Fight an Evil Doll
If Behavior Interactive takes what might be a more fan accepted villain fromThe Conjuringto bring the haunted doll Annabelle into the game, then a strong option to face off against her could be Sister Charlotte. Not to be confused with the demon nun Valak from the coreThe Conjuringfilms, Sister Charlotte acts as one of the primary protagonists inAnnabelle: Creation, the currently highest rated movie to star the possessed doll. While the younger protagonist Janice from the same film might make for a strong candidate as well thematically, her medical situation would make her a difficult design to incorporate as aDead by Daylightsurvivor.
In the case of including Sister Charlotte, her design as an uncorrupted nun forced into a terrible situation would also work whether the killer that arrives alongside her is Annabelle or Valak. Thematically, it would work incredibly with Valak as she would stand in stark opposition to the demon nun that plagues the Warrens. However, as interesting as it would be to give Sister Charlotte another chance in the spotlight, the obvious choice for theupcoming newDead by Daylightcontentwould still have to come from the married couple that acts as the protagonists of the main series.

The Spiritual Center of The Conjuring
When it comes to who should be the survivor to joinDead by Daylight, it should absolutely be Lorraine Warren, the woman who by far acts as the central figurehead of the entireThe Conjuringseries. In a perfect world, Behavior Interactive could ideally take a similar approach as theStranger Thingscrossover inDead by Daylightthat brought two new survivors in the single chapter. This could mean bringing both Lorraine Warren and her husband Ed Warren, both of which act as the perspective characters and spiritual guides throughout the three mainThe Conjuringfilms.
Considering that this would be a crossover with the film series, the design should certainly pull from the fictionalized versions of the real Warrens portrayed by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. Delving into the real-life versions of the Warrens might be especially off-putting considering they would be added to the game post-mortem, so sticking with the films would be best for several reasons. Regardless, if anyone is going to join in anewDead by Daylightchaptercentered aroundThe Conjuring, there would be no one better than the Warrens.
