There are a lot of rumors about what characters will appear inDeadpool 3, but luckily for fans, Ryan Reynolds is letting them know who will be in the film: Dogpool.

Since it was revealed thatDeadpool 3would include Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine, the rumor mills realized anything would be fair game, fromChanning Tatum as Gambitto Taylor Swift as Dazzler. However, with the actors' strike and how tightlipped Marvel Studios is about their projects, there were no confirmations about these characters being in the film. Shortly after the actors’ strike ended, Reynolds posted a picture of the latest character from the comics who will be in the movie.

Reynolds posted a picture of Dogpool fully suited forDeadpool 3. “Did Dogpool save the day? Not a chance in gremlin hell. But she IS currently causing the Disney plushy merch department nightmares. Coming with the movie, Summer 2024,” wrote Reynolds. The biggest news is that Dogpool will be making her highly anticipated film debut, but the second biggest news revealed by this post is thatDeadpool 3won’t be delayed too longdue to the actors' strike and will be released in the Summer of 2024.

In the comics, Dogpool was a version of Deadpool, a dog named Wilson from Earth-103173. He was experimented on by a cosmetics corporation as a part of the Mascara X program to give their consumers eternal youth. Instead, the experiment gave Wilson the ability to heal from any wound. The corporation thought he was dead and threw him out, where he was eventually found alive and joined a circus under the name “The Death Defying Hound, Deadpool.” Eventually, he was found by Earth-616 Deadpool and recruited to the Deadpool Corps.

The fact that Dogpool is inDeadpool 3could mean other Deadpool variants will appear in the film. Kidpool was rumored to be in the film, portrayed by Walker Scobell, who worked with Reynolds onThe Adam Project. Dogpool brings more credibility to that rumor. Additionally, if Deadpool’s variants are to play a considerable role in the film,Taylor Swift’s role inDeadpool 3may be as Lady Deadpool or Gwenpool.

However, it is also possible that Dogpool is the only Deadpool variant or that she isn’t even a variant, just a dog that Wade has adopted since fans last saw him. Either way, fans will be excited when they can finally get a hold of that Dogpool plushie.
