SomeDestiny 2players are extremely disappointed with Bungie’s announcement about not launching new Ritual Armor sets with every expansion. This was highlighted in the recent “State of the Game” article which also revealed 2’s plans for the future.
Back in May 2020, Bungie had announced that players will get a new Ritual Playlist Armor set every year. However, the community only ever received one armor set whenDestiny 2Beyond Light DLClaunched, and there weren’t any new sets launched with The Witch Queen and Lightfall expansions. Since then,Destiny 2players have urged Bungie to provide an update on the missing sets on multiple occasions. Unfortunately the developer has now said it won’t be providing new Ritual Armor sets with every new expansion going forward. Consequently, the community has called out Bungie for not delivering on its promise.

In a post on Reddit, user LunarKOF questioned why Bungie was unable to deliver on the new Ritual Armor sets. They also pointed out that Bungie’s decision to do so was because of the “low adoption rate” of the armor pieces among the community. According to them, this was a questionable response considering the armor piece offered no significant value toDestiny 2players in terms of stats and design.
Bungie mentioned that it is currently stretched too thin on resources to provide new armor pieces with every expansion. Reports have indicated that Bungie is currently working on multiple unannounced projects on top ofDestiny 2and the recentlyannounced the revival of itsMarathonIP. As a result, several fans suggested making peace with the current situation and accept thatDestiny 2is no longer Bungie’s sole focus.
Although, Bungie has promised fans that it will provide a climactic ending to the Light vs. Darkness saga withDestiny 2The Final Shape’s campaign and raid. Players had requested Bungie to change its approach after Lightfall’s seasonal storytelling received heavy criticism, and it looks like the developer has listened to this feedback.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
