Diablo 4 is building up to be one of the biggest titles of the year as it plans to release on both current and last-generation consoles with support for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Xbox One as well as PC, making it an excellent offering for cross-play and cross-platform progression - though you can choose to get ahead of the curve if you go for some of the more expensive options which can give u a full 4-day lead on some of your peers who get to play at the launch date of June 5th (US time).

There are currently 3 different versions of Diablo 4 on offer, each with preorder bonuses, and the latter 2 offer faster access to the game with the standard edition offering cosmetics in 3 other Activision Blizzard titles (Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, Diablo Immortal) as well as two pre-purchase bonuses for the game itself including an exclusive mount and armor.

While it does sting somewhat to not be able to get early access to Diablo 4 despite paying the full $70, it does happen to be the most economical of all 3 preorder choices we have for Diablo IV currently.

Diablo 4 Deluxe Edition

It must be noted that the Diablo 4 Standard Edition copies are available in both physical and digital variants for consoles with both the PlayStation and Xbox versions being cross-gen, making it a simple upgrade choice down the line. PC owners however must resort to buying the game online only on Activision Blizzard’s Battle.Net store.

Xbox Series X – Diablo IV Bundle

Blizzard is currently offering 4 days of early access to both Ultimate and Deluxe edition buyers which means you’re able to use this to progress ahead of your friends or with them depending on which version they go for. Crossplay and cross-progression is, after all, key mechanic of Diablo’s incoming installment offerings.

The Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition offers what is essentially the deluxe edition with a unique emote (The Wings Of The Creator) and a 20-tier skip option for the premium battle pass that is already bundled into the package. It does come at an eye-watering $100 price premium while offering the most complete package if you want to get a copy of Diablo 4 with all the extras in tow.

Inarius Wings + Pet

It does also allow you 4 days of early access which should help you get acquainted with the game faster and be ready for when the main population joins in on all the fun in the world of Diablo.

Xbox Series X – Diablo IV Bundle

Next Gen Console Meets Diablo

The Xbox Series X is arguably the most powerful console gamers can buy in 2024, and it comes as part of multiple bundles, including Diablo 4. With a built-in multi-volt supply, 1TB of SSD storage, and arguably one of the best stock controllers in the market, it is a gift worth giving to most gamers, but it might appeal to Diablo fans more than others.

While the Xbox Series X – Diablo IV Bundle is a hard recommendation for most users unless they are planning to buy both the Xbox Series X and Diablo 4 in the near future, it does have some advantages: You do save an effective $10 on the purchase as well as get to play on what is arguably the most powerful console you may play this on. It does come with the preorder bonuses/DLC that the standard edition preorder does for all other platforms including Xbox, but little else.

Amalgam of Rage Mount

It is somewhat disappointing in a way since there is no custom skin, no physical copy included, and no custom console bundle DLC offerings. In fact, the only real reason you would buy this would be if you wanted exactly this combination of console and copy of Diablo IV, and the $10 savings and the convenience of a bundle outweigh the issues. At the same time, expecting at least a deluxe or ultimate edition which is only $20 and $30 more than the basic SKU doesn’t seem like much of an overreach for what is the only console bundle at launch.

If you do go that route, do remember to either stock up Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Live Gold; Diablo 4 will require access to online services on the Xbox Series X to function properly and be playable for end users.

GameStop Specific Offerings: SteelBook And Lithograph

GameStop is currently offering some unique physical freebies to users who preorder Diablo 4 via them. Gamers who purchase via Gamestop for preorders do end up getting both, a limited edition steelbook case for the physical disc of the standard edition and a Limited Edition Diablo IV Lithograph to round off their purchase. The caveat is that both the higher-end versions of Diablo IV, Deluxe, and Ultimate are digital-only, making the steelbook a moot point, but still, a collectible you would want in some cases.

It is also important to note that to collect these, you would need to physically go to your nearest store to get the preorder bonus, and it is only available while supplies last which means you would want to print out your online order and go to the store at release to make the most of it if you want to grab these extras.

Diablo IV: PC Hardware Requirements

While Diablo IV on consoles simply requires the requisite console and Xbox Live Gold/Game Pass Ultimate or PlayStation Plus Essential, PC requirements are more rigid given the plethora of gaming PCs and laptops out there

The minimum requirements for playing Diablo IV on PC are as follows;

Light-bearer Mount

Operating System:64-bit Windows® 10 version 1909 or newer

Processor:Intel® Core™ i5-2500K or AMD™ FX-8350

Diablo 4 Lithograph Steelbook

Video:NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 or AMD Radeon™ R9 280 - DirectX® 12 compatible system

Storage:SSD with 90 GB available space

Internet:Broadband Connection

Target Resolution:1080p native resolution / 720p render resolution, low graphics settings, 30fps

Diablo 4, when run at medium graphics or settings is not a taxing game and can be run easily with limited PC hardware. All ourdedicated PC builds under $500can more than handle the minimum requirements of the title with ease and given that modern consoles do cost in the same ballpark, PC might be a great option to consider this time around.

Diablo 4’s recommended options are a tad higher as stated below:

Processor:Intel® Core™ i5-4670K or AMD Ryzen™ 1300X

Video:NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970 or AMD Radeon™ RX 470 - DirectX® 12 compatible system

Target Resolution:1080p resolution, medium graphics settings, 60fps

Again, while the specifications required are a little higher than the base specs, most modern computers, and laptops should be able to handle them with ease. If you need an upgrade, we can offer both,$1000 custom PC build suggestionsmade by our team andbudget prebuilt PCs, both of which can easily handle the hardware needs of the title with ease.

All in, Diablo 4 is not a taxing title for most modern hardware, though some laptops without a dedicated iGPU could struggle to handle it at higher resolutions, so if you are due an upgrade,we have you covered in that department.

While Diablo 4 Preload download sizes are not yet public, the recently concluded Server Slam does give us a pretty solid idea of what the title entails in terms of download size and HDD/SSD space required to download and store it.

PC: 82GB approx (includes high-res texture pack)

Xbox Series X: ~75GB

PlayStation 5: ~75GB

It must be noted that PC players have the ability to skip on high-resolution textures altogether, halving their download sizes for the Server Slam, and we expect this practice to continue for the final launch version of Diablo IV on PC.

There is no exact information on when the final preload will be made available, but we expect it to be sometime soon given that Deluxe and Ultimate edition owners will have access to the game for playing as early as June 2. For now, Diablo 4’s open beta should have yielded important information to the company aboutbugs and issues with the serversthat we expect to be smoothed out in the final release of the same.

Diablo 4will be available June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series XIS. Deluxe and Ultimate edition owners can play it 4 days earlier than the official launch date.
