To obtain these Legendary Aspects, players must first complete specific dungeons for the first time. Once obtained, these Legendary Aspects can be imprinted on Rare and Legendary items at the Occultist. Additionally, printing a Legendary Aspect onto a Rare item will turn that item into a Legendary with the affixes that were previously on that item, plus the newly added Legendary Power. On the other hand,Diablo 4’s Legendary itemswill have their existing Legendary Power overwritten with the new one. It’s important to note that Codex of Power Aspects can be applied indefinitely, while regularly extracted Legendary Aspects are consumed when they are imprinted onto an item.
The Codex of Power system offers a great way for players to target and obtainDiablo 4’s build-enabling Legendary Powersfor their character. However, it does come with some limitations to make finding items more desirable. For example, individual affixes from a Legendary Aspect will always have the lowest possible rolls, and not all Legendary Aspects will be available through the Codex of Power. Another benefit of this system and the Legendary Aspects is that they make use of an extensive amount of status effects and keywords like Berserk and Crackling Energy.
Why Diablo 4’s Codex of Power Allows For More Customization
Additionally, Legendary Aspects inDiablo 4can only be imprinted onto specific item slots, which are determined by the category of the Legendary Aspect itself. Each Legendary Aspect belongs to one particular category, including Defensive, Offensive, Resource, Utility, or Mobility archetypes. In some cases, the item slot you choose for a Legendary Aspect can also increase the imprinted Legendary Power on the item, like one-handed swords or rings. Each class also has its own Codex of Power assets, which allows players to further tailor their Aspects to fit some ofDiablo 4’s specific skill treesby toying with classes, skills, and playstyle.
