There is no doubt thatDiablo 4is set to be the darkest game of the series thus far, ushering the return of Lilith and Inarius to the land of Sanctuary, created by the coming together of angle and demon. Caught right in the middle of it all will be the players, who certainly have a huge role to play in seeing this titanic battle to the end.
Of course, even at the conclusion of the narrative, it doesn’t mean that the job is done. In fact, with this being a live-service game, there is certainly more to do in the endgame than perhaps the bulk of the main progression. A key addition that becomes unlocked once the day is supposedly saved is the newWhispers of the Deadsystem inDiablo 4, and this is what players can expect to get out of it.

The name of this particular branch of activities will be familiar to players who have gone through the main plot ofDiablo 4, and it haseverything to do with the Tree of Whisperslocated in Hawezar.
After the slaying of Elias and returning his head to the Tree as payment, the slain Horadrim remains a constant annoyance as one of the many talking heads now hung on the Tree.Play through to the end of the main story, and a return to the Tree will reveal something new to do.

Upon accepting the Tree of Whispers' request,new icons will now appear on the map, indicatingactive Whispers that are only available for an amount of time. This can range from killing a set number of enemies toclearing dungeons and cellars.
Completing these various Whispers willgrant a number of Grim Favorsdepending on the type, and forevery 10 Grim Favors accumulated, players can head back to the Tree of Whispers to claim valuable rewards.

Interact with the Tree of Whispers with 10 or more Grim Favors in tow, and the Tree will give playersthree options to choose from as a reward. Each option is clearly geared towards aparticular equipment slot, along with gems, gold, crafting materials, and a significant XP boost. On occasion, there are alsoLegendary Grand Cachesand beyond that grant even more powerful gear, making Whispers of the Dead an excellent endgame activity to partake in.
With the road to thelevel cap ofDiablo 4a long and arduous one, it is vital to have all the advantages one can get to keep the monsters at bay and look good doing it. Getting more amazing loot via Whispers of the Dead is exactly what endgame players need to keep going.
