Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm was banned from the livestreaming platformTwitchback in 2020, but the implications of this ban continue to manifest today. During a recent YouTube stream, Dr Disrespect revealed why he took it so “personal” whenCall of Dutydevelopers didn’t support him after theTwitchban took place.
Call of Dutyhas a lengthy history with Dr Disrespect that first started when he played the popular FPS games during his early days on YouTube. Going beyond simplyplayingCall of Dutyfor content, Dr Disrespect was also hired by Sledgehammer Games in 2011 and became a level designer forCall of Duty: Advanced Warfarein 2013 which resulted in maps like Ascend, Horizon, and Quarantine. Although some of hisCall of Duty: Advanced Warfaremaps became fan favorites and Dr Disrespect continues to playCall of Dutyon YouTube, he feelsCall of Dutydevelopers secretly shadow-banned him as a result of the Twitch situation.

Streaming to YouTube now instead of Twitch, Dr Disrespect has remained a critic ofCall of Dutytitles, from uninstallingCall of Duty: Warzonemultiple times to having a mediocre response to the upcomingCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Responding to a fan that asked why he’s so critical of the franchise, Dexerto found that Dr Disrespect said theCall of Dutydevelopers stopped responding to him after the Twitch ban. “Design half the maps fromAdvanced Warfare, like we’ve done a lot with the franchise, right?" said Dr. Disrespect, “for them to turn the cold shoulder like that, trust me, I took it personal.”
Beyond discussing his personal grievances with howCall of Dutydevelopers treated him after hisTwitch ban, Dr Disrespect accused a lot of them of being “phonies.” Dr Disrespect also mentioned the multipleCall of Dutyads he was in during his Twitch popularity which stopped once he was pushed to YouTube, and the opportunities haven’t returned since. Developers behindCall of Dutyaren’t the only ones Dr Disrespect put on blast during his rant as he claims “there’s a lot of phoniness in this industry,” before saying EA did the “same exact thing.”
Dr Disrespect pulls no punches in criticizingCall of Dutyas he states that it’s in a “pathetic position,” but some fans of his content may be surprised to know the two-time andCODdevelopers had such a falling out. The issues between Twitch and Dr Disrespect were made public as the streamer moved toYouTubewhile fighting a legal battle, but the drama between him andCall of Dutydevelopers was in the background while this took place. Although his lawsuit withTwitchhas concluded, it’s currently unclear if Dr Disrespect andCall of Dutywill mend their differences and return to a working relationship in the future.
