Alongside its new Thedas Calls trailer,Dragon Age: Dreadwolfdeveloper BioWare releases a new blog post confirming that the three countries shown are all playable locations in the game. Previously, it was confirmed thatDragon Age: Dreadwolfwould take place in Tevinter, but now it seems it will include Rivain, the Anderfels, and Antiva too.
Tevinter was practically confirmed inDragon Age: Inquisition’s Trespasser DLC, which sees the one-armed Inquisitor stab a map of Tevinter. It helps that it has been iterated a time or two elsewhere since then, but this is the first confirmation of locations outside it. However, given thatInquisitionalso featured Ferelden and Orlais, many believed more than Tevinter was possible, but bringing the total country count up to four is exciting.
BioWare addressed this directly in itsDragon Age Day 2023 blog post. After discussing countries fans visited in the past games, the company writes, “This time, however, much more of Thedas is yours to see. The desolate, beautiful badlands of the Anderfels with curtains of distant mountainous spires. The twisting canals and gleaming towers of Antiva, where Crows may lurk in any shadow. The turquoise seas of Rivain with its rushes of greenery and hardy sea-faring people. And of course, there’s more.” The last sentence teases more locations, one of which is Tevinter, but it could be that fans visit other countries inDragon Age: Dreadwolftoo.
It remains to be seen if each of these locations receives, more or less, equal attention as Orlais and Ferelden did inInquisition. It could be that players get a handful of locations in each region, ifDreadwolffollowsInquisition’s map design, or it could be that more of their time is spent in Tevinter with a few trips to these locations. The Anderfels, for example, are a lot of mountains that could be repetitive if there were a few locations there. TheGrey Warden fortress of Weisshaupt, though, is a big draw to visit the location.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen, but BioWare made a few more promises. The full reveal is coming in Summer 2024, and BioWare has promised new trailers, gameplay, and confirmation of therelease date forDragon Age: Dreadwolfat that time. Fans still have a long wait on their hands, but the wait gets smaller with every passing day.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is the fourth game in the franchise, serving as a direct sequel to the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Players will attempt to stop Solas from tearing down the Veil, among other possibly major plot points. Its events see players travel to Tevinter, the Anderfels, Rivain, and Antiva.
