The annual Tokyo Game Show has concluded after a week of streams featuring announcements from across the gaming industry. Many big publishers had something to show, including Bandai Namco, which provided a lot of new updates and information. Yet,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotseems to have been overlooked, and fans are none too happy about it.
During its recent Tokyo Game Show stream, Bandai Namco presented numerous updates for some of its biggest titles, including those that continue to receive support years after release. FromTekken 7seeing the return of a beloved character, to even 2018’sJump Forcegetting a new DLC fighter from theYu Yu Hakushofranchise, there were a lot of DLC announcements to be excited about.

While Bandai Namco’s presentation has seen many franchise fans happy over the announcements,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotplayers are particularly less thrilled over what many consider a non-existent showing. Both Reddit and Twitter users are mocking the short update provided for the animeRPG that only really confirmed the previouslyleaked card battle mode coming toDragon Ball Z: Kakarot. The official subreddit for the game is filled with threads of fans upset over the lack of any substantial update for the 2020 title.
There are two big reasons for the disappointment from fans over Bandai Namco’s quick update toDragon Ball Z: Kakarotat TGS. The first big issue is that many fans were expecting a trailer forDragon Ball Z: Kakarots' recently revealed DLC 2, which is set to introduce Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta alongside Golden Frieza. Instead of a trailer or even a firm release date, fans simply saw the same images released in the announcement tweet.
The other big source of ire comes more from the expectations around what Bandai Namco was set to announce. Before the publisher’s Toyko Game Show stream, rumors circulated about afree content update forDragon Ball Z: Kakarot. These rumors started to gain traction back in July due to the card game battle mode that was leaked in V-Jump. With Bandai Namco being a publisher well-regarded for supporting its games after launch, fans are upset that a title that released this year seemingly has had little in the way of any updates.
AsDragon Ball Z: Kakarotfans end the Tokyo Game Show presentation with disappointment, players still have the upcoming DLC to look forward to. While the contents of DLC 2 are known to be the Golden Frieza arc, there isstill DLC 3 forKakarotfans to theorize over, which may be an entirely new spin on the series.
