EachElden Ringpatch brings a wealth of changes to the game, which often work to nerf the most popular “cheesing” strategies and strong builds. Notably,Elden Ring’spatch 1.03 nerfed Mimic Tear Ashes, which many players were using to easily defeat bosses, and patch 1.05 has now rolled around forElden Ringand brought a whole host of major changes to the game. However, as is sometimes the case when any game releases a big update, there can be a few unintentional bugs as part of the patch dropping.
In terms of patch 1.05, along with a big change toElden Ring’smapand a quality-of-life improvement to the menu seen when resting at a Site of Grace, some players have encountered a rather strange bug that informs them that “inappropriate activity” has been detected on their account. Usually, inappropriate activity refers to when a player has been caught cheating or modding inElden Ring, and so they are forced to play the game in offline mode to prevent them from being able to unfairly invade other players' worlds.

However, following the release of patch 1.05, manyElden Ringfans were being that inappropriate activity had been detected without them ever having downloaded cheats or mods. This led to a huge amount of posts on Reddit filled with confusedElden Ringfans hoping that they could get back to playing the game in online mode. Luckily for those players who had not cheated and still received the message, it appears this was only a minor bug related to the release of the new update.
As pointed out by a few different posts on theElden Ringsubreddit, it seems that those players who wrongly received an inappropriate activity detected message are now able to return to online play. Many who got the notification found that their game froze after a while, and they discovered that the problem had fixed itself upon reloading. Players who can’t wait to return to theirinvasions inElden Ringcan breathe a sigh of relief to know they haven’t been banned unfairly from the game’s online mode.
It seems that the bug still persists for some players, though, who receive the inappropriate activity message when they attempt to log intoElden Ring. In addition to preventing some players from joining the online portion of the game,Elden Ringhas faced some more controversy with fans regarding other recent changes. Namely, there was an alteration toMorgott’s introduction, which had someElden Ringfans confused due to it changing the meaning of the boss' dialogue.
