Curved Swordshave always been a key part of Soulsborne games. Even since the early days ofDark Souls 1, there’s been no shortage of choices for players who prefer this type of weapon over others with similar characteristics. Curved Swords typically scale primarily with Dexterity and are great for Bleed builds and swift attacks.

Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLChas successfully continued the Curved Sword tradition by adding a few of these weapons to the Tarnished’s arsenal, allowing players to adapt their play styles and gain an edge over the mighty enemies they’ll encounter. Here are thebest new curved swords inShadow of the Erdtree.

TheDancing Blade of Ranahis one of the best new Curved Swords introduced inShadow of the Erdtree, as it scales primarily with Dexterity, making it a great choice for players who walked into the DLC with a build based on that Stat. As its name suggests, this Curved Sword’s Special Skill, “Unending Dance”, initiates a dance-like motion that allows players to swiftly swing their blade while moving forward, making it a great choice of defense when surrounded by enemies.

TheSpirit Swordis another great new Curved Sword introduced inShadow of the Erdtree, as it has an intimidating look and scales primarily with Dexterity and Intelligence, and secondarily with Strength. Said to serve as a medium for communion with spirits, this bladedeals decent Magic Damagein addition to its Physical Damage, making it a great choice against enemies susceptible to the former Elemental effect.

The Spirit Sword can be found on Cerulean Coast, specifically between the Cerulean Coast West and the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace. As a reference, players should look for an area with a few demi-humans; seeing them indicates they’re close to this weapon’s location. Similar to other Curved Swords on this list, the Spirit Sword can’t be buffed or infused with Ashes of War, and it requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade.

Elden Ring - Freyja’s Greatsword

4.0

Scaling primarily with Strength and Dexterity,Falxare a pair of Curved Swords meant to be wielded together. Dropped by Hornsent when invaded near the Rauh Ancient Ruins Site of Grace, this weapon is a great choice for players who love dual-wielding the Scimitars that comewith the Warrior classbut want something different. While this weapon doesn’t do any Elemental Damage, its Physical Damage output is decent and has low minimum requirements to wield.

Its Special Skill, “Revenger’s Blade”, allows players to dash forward, traversing a great distance, to strike enemies with an “X” slashing motion. The Falx paired Curved Swords also have Bleed passive buildup; however, the blades can’t be buffed or infused with any Ash of War, making it impossible to boost their Bleed effect further.

Randomly dropped by Horned Warriors wielding it

Physical (108), Magic (0), Fire (0), Lightning (0), Holy (0), Critical (100)

5.0

Scaling primarily with Strength and Dexterity, and secondarily with Faith, theHorned Warrior’s Swordis one of the most complete Curved Swords inShadow of the Erdtree.Typically wielded by Horned Warriors in the Lands of Shadow, this weapon can be obtained through any of the following methods.

Similar to the rest of the Curved Swords mentioned so far on this list, theHorned Warrior’s Swordcan’t be buffed or infused with Ashes of War and requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade. However, given that this is a paired weapon (which are usually part ofthe most overpowered buildsin the game), players only need to get one to get the pair, making farming unnecessary. Its Special Skill, “Horn Calling”, allows players to plunge the blade into the ground to summon a powerful cluster of piercing horns in front of them. Ideal for breaking enemies' stances and incapacitating them for a short period.

Curved Greatsword

Physical (130), Magic (0), Fire (0), Lightning (0), Holy (0), Critical (100)

13.0

When it comes to massive Curved Greatswords, the Horned Warrior’s Greatsword is one of the best in the DLC. Being considerably larger than its non-Greatsword version, this weapon is much heavier and requires a lot more Strength to wield properly, especially in one-handed combat. Described to have tangled horns that allow the blade to serve as a medium for horn-calling, it has some very interesting lore behind it.

As opposed to other weapons in its class, theHorned Warrior’s Greatswordrequires no farming, as it’s a guaranteed drop when defeating the Wind-Aspected Horned Warrior at the end of Enir Ilim. Although it has a low sell value of 200 Runes, keeping this weapon is well worth it, as it has a strong Special Skill and, when combined with certain talismans, such as Millicent’s Prosthesis, it can deal absurd amounts of damage todecimate even the strongest enemies. Another great aspect of this Curved Greatsword, is that it scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith equally, making it ideal for players who like a balanced weapon that can take advantage of many of their Stats at once.

1Freyja’s Greatsword

Physical Damage: 146

Last, but certainly not least,Freyja’s Greatswordis another one of the best (if not the best) new Curved Swords inShadow of the Erdtree.Scaling primarily with Strength and secondarily with Dexterity, this weapon is wielded by Redmane Freya, an NPC players will encounter a few times as they explore the Lands of Shadow. To get Freyja’s Greatsword, players will have to loot it from Freyja’s body after defeating her in Enir Ilim. Some people suspect it might be possible to get this weapon without killing the NPC, but sadly, if there’s a way, it hasn’t been discovered yet.

With a weight of 14, a Strength requirement of 25, and a staggering Physical Damage of 146, this blade is perfect for players with a Strength build looking for a massive weapon with decent Stats and a Special Skill with 360-degree coverage.
