FromSoftware’sElden Ringremains the highest-rated video game released in 2022 so far, not to mention one of the best-selling.Elden Ringwas a massive hit out of the gate, but FromSoftware has continued to improve the game through regular updates that make tweaks, add new content, squash lingering bugs, and more. The latestElden Ringupdate is available for fans to download now, with FromSoftware revealing all the changes and bug fixes.
Elden Ringupdate 1.05, which is about 4.14 GB on Xbox, is available to download now across all platforms. The headlining change involves the Twin Maiden Husk NPC, who is found in theRoundtable Hold. After downloading the update, some Bell Bearing items' liberated status will carry over to New Game+, with these Bell Bearing items pointed out in particular: Bone Peddler’s Bell Bearing, Meat Peddler’s Bell Bearing, Medicine Peddler’s Bell Bearing, Gravity Stone Peddler’s Bell Bearing, Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing, Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing, Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing, and Ghost-Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing.

Elden Ringplayers will also notice some differences in the game when playing co-op and interacting with Sites of Grace. There will now be more emphasis whenElden Ringplayers are able toupgrade their Sacred Flask, and there are now sound effects whenever a player’s summon sign appears. These are small changes in the grand scheme of things, but they should both prove to be quality of life improvements for fans of FromSoftware’s open world epic.
As far as bug fixes go, the latest update squashes manyElden Ringbugs and makes various other fixes. Bugs involved skills like Barbaric Roar, War Cry, and Troll’s Roar have all been fixed, while bugs involving weapons like Moonlight Greatsword have also been rectified with the latestElden Ringupdate. Various bugs involvingElden Ringbosses have been addressed as well, including one that made the notoriously difficult Malenia have low HP, and another that made it impossible for players to properly complete the boss fight against the God-Devouring Serpent. FromSoftware has also fixed a bug that let players attack bosses without going through their fog doors, so it seems some methods players have been using to cheese certain bosses won’t work anymore. This has infamously worked forCommander Niall in Castle Solin the past, but some testing will need done to figure out if this particular cheese is possible after the latest update.
Besides these bug fixes,Elden Ringupdate 1.05 also improves the game’s stability, online performance, and in the case of Xbox, apparently makes the load times even faster. It should prove to be another solidElden Ringupdatewhile fans wait for news on DLC.
