Fortnite’s latest season officially launches today. With the beginning of a new season, the battle royalewill see quite a few changes to the available arsenal. Chapter 2 Season 5 introduces several new weapons, in addition to vaulting, and unvaulting, some old ones.

Epic Games' popular battle royale title just ended its Marvel-based Nexus War of Season 4 with the long-awaited arrival of Galactus. Players who dropped intotheFortniteGalactus Eventfound themselves teaming up with Iron Man, Thor, and Wolverine to bring down the world-eating villain.

Season 5 appears to be reverting some of the map back to older locations, including Flush Factory and Dusty Depot.Fortniteis also bringing back the fan-favorite areaTilted Towers, but with one big change. Much like the map, the array of weapons looks a lot different for the new season.

Season 5 Vaulted Weapons

Every new season sees an assortment of weapons disappear from the game, possibly returning at a later time.Fortniteseems to be backtracking on the usage of traps in the game, removing the controversial Fire Trap. Also gone are the Legendary Pump and Combat shotguns, as well as the Scar. The total list of vaulted weapons for the start of Season 5 are:

In addition to weapons going into the vault, there are several which are making their return toFortnite. Epic Games looks to be trading out some of the more powerful close-range weapons that wereunvaulted in Season 4. The return of these weapons (and balloons) should certainly add a breath of fresh air into the game. However,Fortniteis adding all-new weapons to the latest season. Players will discover other interestingly-named weapons on the map, including the Dragon’s Breath shotgun and the Night Hawk.

Although many players will almost certainly miss mainstays like the Scar assault rifle and higher-tier pump shotguns, the eclectic mix of returning weapons should provide an interesting change-up to the game.
