Blasphemous 2’s Limited Collector’s Edition Celebrates the Game’s Best Features
Blasphemous 2’s limited collector’s edition suggests that not a whole lot of them will be available and that pre-orders may sell out quickly depending on what their demand looks like. Regardless, its contents are all celebratory of the work that the developers put into the indie game with a lot ofthe standard fare fans would find in most other collector’s editions.
The entire goodie package comes in a collector’s edition box with a premium finish sporting unique key artwork. The steelbook display case is decidedly sparse, featuring the game’s title and an ornate mark of martyrdom insignia atop a black background.
Included is what appears to be a physical copy of the game itself, which may have been an obvious inclusion a year or so ago but is now becoming less frequent, such as howGod of War Ragnarok’s collector’s and Jotnar editions came without physical discs, opting instead for digital copies.
An instruction manual is included that was created by the developers, as well as a game guide that features over 60 pages. Likewise, two CDs of music composed by Carlos Viola forBlasphemous 2’s official soundtrack accompany a collector’s CD cover and an exclusive digital download code for the OST.
Then, an art cards set with three new illustrations pairs well with a Marca del Martirio metal coin and an art book with more than 60 pages. Finally, the limited collector’s edition has a Thank You letter penned by The Game Kitchen for fans, as well as a certificate of authenticity for the whole bundle.
There isn’t currently a concrete release date for the collector’s edition, only a window of spring 2024, but pre-orders are live now for fans eager to reserve theirs. Spring 2024 puts this limited collector’s edition a little bit out of the way, but it’s possible that it drops around the time that a DLC may be announced.
At least, it wasn’t previously known. An Amazon listing forBlasphemous 2’s limited collector’s edition on Nintendo Switch now states that it will be released on June 01, 2025, though there hasn’t been an official confirmation of whether this is true for the PS5 release or other retailers as of yet.
It’s only likely thatBlasphemous 2gets DLC since the original game did, and only time will tell if the limited collector’s edition’s release window is conveniently timed or simply a great way for players to cherish the game with physical goodies. The fact that this physical collector’s edition will be available for both Nintendo Switch and PS5 is icing on the cake, though it’s unfortunate it won’t be available for Xbox.
