Evil Westcontains no shortage of wild battles filled with gritty, gunslinging action. Its wacky, steampunk western vibes shine brightly in some boss fights, but in others the gruesome, grizzly side bleeds through.
The battle with Peter D’Abano is one such fight. It uses familiar, time-honored boss mechanics to deliver a satisfying experience. It has Jesse battling in an actual pool of blood, assailed by a terrifying otherworldly demon that flies, claws, and summons undead minions. It’s a quintessential boss fight, a standard for games in this genre like Darkwatch, whichEvil West bears a strong resemblance to. Here’s how players can emerge victorious.

The last thing to watch out for when fighting Peter D’Abano is hisminions. At 50% health, he flies up again and summons a wave of Infected Vessels. He only does this once; if he recovers over 50% health and then drops below it again, he won’t do it again. The vessels don’t actually need to be dealt with, though usuallyit is better to kill weaker enemies first. Instead, they can be corralled into a group and kited around while fighting D’Abano. However, if Jesse’s health ever gets low, the player can take the vessels out with a Coup de Grâce to get health pickups.
