In theFalloutseries, Vaul-Tec’s Vaults were originally marketed to the public as a safety measure in the event of a nuclear conflict. However, as many players know, each vault was also the subject of its ownunique social experimentin an attempt to breed the strongest survivors in the future. Vault 75 is no different, however, it is a difficult one to find. Unlike Vault 111 and 114, which players visit duringFallout 4’smain questline, Vault 75 is a little more obscure, and will take some searching for in order to find it.
This location marks one of the many areas throughout the Commonwealthharboring some hidden secretsand quests for players to interact with. In addition to finding out the secrets of the vault, players can also collect some valuable loot and gain a hefty amount of XP due to the presence of a high number of enemies inside.
Where Is Vault 75?
Vault 75 is a relatively well-hidden location which players will certainly notice at first. Tucked away beneath the Malden Middle School building in the Malden district of the eastern Commonwealth, the Vault houses many useful loot items including theScience bobblehead, Vault-Tec Lunchbox, and Grognak The Barbarian Issue No. 5. Before attempting to enter the vault, players should first head to Greentop Nursery, since this will provide a good point of reference from where to begin the search.
Greentop Nursery can be found just south of the main estuary which connects the river running down from the north of the map. Players will likely be givena quest to help this location by Preston Garveyat some point. The Malden Middle School can be found in the center of the Malden town ruins, and is particularly recognizable due to the basketball court which joins the main street. Approaching the Malden Middle School building should trigger the quest “Vault 75” to begin, the first objective of which will be to find the entrance.
How To Get Into Vault 75
Since the doors of the school will be boarded up, players will have to enter via a collapsed wall at the south-eastern corner. Inside, players will see a number of rooms including a metal gate. Passing through the gate will take players down a set of stairs where they can enter the Malden Middle School Basement, which serves as the entrance to the vault.
Passing through this entrance will take players to an elevator which will transport them down into the actual main vault itself. The area has a lot of enemies, which will vary depending on which ending players have chosen. However, if approached before the end of the game’s main story, these will chiefly beRaiders or Gunners. Once inside, the Vault itself is a bit of a maze, hence an entire quest being devoted to it, but it is well worth exploring and unlocking each area in order to learn its story and maximize the potential rewards.
