The sixth entrymay be one of theFast and Furiousfranchise’s most purely enjoyable installments. However, it still killed off franchise-favorite character Gisele Yashar, played byWonder Womanstar Gal Gadot. With that said, the viewer doesn’t witness Gisele’s death, as when she sacrifices herself for Han Lue, she more or less falls back into darkness. During an interview withComicBook, Kang didn’t rule out Gadot’s return to the franchise. “Why can’t she? I would. Who doesn’t? Who doesn’t want a load of Gal Gadot in their life?” Kang asked.
Regarding the actor’s availability, the last DCEU film Gadot appeared in was thePedro Pascal-starringWonder Woman 1984, which was met with mixed reviews by both fans and critics. The few overtly kind remarks were pointed toward the special effects and Gadot’s performance. Yet, Gadot’s future in the Universe looks uncertain. New DCU showrunners James Gunn and Peter Safran are returning to square one for the Universe. With that, there doesn’t seem to be a place for Gadot, just as there didn’t end up being one for Henry Cavill after the failure ofBlack Adam.
So, will Gadot be a part of the swiftly impendingFast X? Maybe, but the safe money is on its follow-up, if at all.Xis the first of two chapters set to close out theFast and Furiousfranchise, and iftheFast Xtraileris any indication, the filmmakers are pulling out all the stops. This includes bringing back a slew of characters, most notably Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner in what appears to be stock footage fromFast Five’s big heist.
Gadot would probably return to the family, too, given that there was no reported acrimony on her end like there was on the sets of Dwayne Johnson’s installments. At the very least, she might want to fly out to set if only to drive some of theFast and Furiousfranchise’s expensive sports cars. It all comes down to what dialogue has been written for Gadot and whether her arc in the 10th (or 11th) installment would feel organic to the character.
Fast Xis scheduled to be released in theaters on June 21, 2025.
