Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker, the latest expansion of Square Enix’s MMORPG, launched its early access yesterday on December 3rd. As the floodgates opened, those who preordered the game were greeted by no shortage of long queue times and quest NPCs buried underneath clumps of player characters, as they all excitedly rushed to see the new content,take the ship to Sharlayan, and continue their story.
One of the key changes coming with the Endwalker expansion ofFinal Fantasy 14is the retirement of old tomestones such as Allegory and Revelations. For those unaware, tomestones are a form of ingame currency that players can spend on endgame gear – not unlikeWorld of Warcraft’sValor points.

Those who have yet unspent tomestones of Allegory or Revelations need not despair, as players can exchange them for the baseline Tomestones of Poetics by talking to Auriana in Mor Dhona. The Allagan Tomestones of Poetics can now be used to now buy Shadowbringers gear, including the 430 item level Cryptlurker set.
Tomestones of Causality And How To Obtain Them
The new tomestones introduced withEndwalkercome in two varites. The Allagan Tomestones of Causality are the uncapped version with which a player can acquireEndwalkergear or even high-end crafting materials. The second type – capped at 450 per weekly reset – are called the Allagan Tomestones of Comedy.
To start earning tomestones of Causality, a player must first finish theEndwalkerMain Scenario Quests, and as a result, be at level 90. Obtaining the tomestones from that point on is as simple as completing daily duty roulettes such as dungeons and raids. Namely, the exact values of tomestones earned through roulettes are as follows:
While the tomestones from daily roulettes can only be obtained once per day, players can consecutively run level 90 dungeons and raids for an endless supply. With no weekly cap, the only thing one needs to worry about when it comes to earning Tomestones of Causality is not exceeding the 2,000 currency limit.
The gear vendors that exchange a player’s tomestones forEndwalkerare situated in the city of Radz-at-Han, effectively a parallel to Eulmore inShadowbringers, which served a similar purpose. The best gear that one can obtain for Tomestones of Causality– at this time – are item level 620, which will allow players to engage in higher levels ofendgame content inFinal Fantasy 14more comfortably.
