InFinal Fantasy 14, nothing is more enticing than completing ultimate raids. Ultimate raids consist of themost challenging and epic content that the game offers, often taking raid groups weeks, if not several months, to complete certain fights. With the completion of these raids, ultimate weapons become the most significant reward the game can give players, with the unique design, animation, and look of each ultimate weapon set being only attained by a small demographic of the game’s player base.
Since the introduction of ultimate raids, there have been five in total, with two arriving during theEndwalkerexpansion. Ultimate raid fans will not have to wait long to attempt the next raid, withDawntraildue to have at least one ultimate throughout its expansion. Each ultimate raid has brought forth weapons players lust for as their prestige and beauty make them some of the best weapon glamour inFinal Fantasy 14.

The Weapon’s Refrain was the second ultimate released, as well as being the second to be released inStormblood. UWU, as it is commonly known, rewards players who clear the fight with the Ultima Totem, giving the choice of one Ultima weapon. The Ultima weapon set features a light blue color that is bright and bold. The pulsing and sparkle present throughout all the Ultima weapons make the set one of the most impressive.
As one of the easier ultimates, UWU is more achievable than the four other ultimate raids inFinal Fantasy 14, with many of the fight mechanics being equal to that of savage raids. Some of the standout Ultima weapons include Sphairai Ultima, which features blue coeurls as weapons, while the Dragoon weapon Gae Bolg Ultima is radiant and triumphant in its appearance. Eventhe Astrologian weaponAtlas Ultima benefits from the bright blue color and animations the UWU weapons implement.

With being the first ultimate raid introduced intoFinal Fantasy 14, UCOB did not disappoint with the fight or the weapons. UCOB involves fightingBahamut, one of the many iconic summons inFinal Fantasy. Besting Bahamut will see players receive the Ultimate Dreadwyrm weapons, which are easy on the eye due to the bright and sparkly gold color used on all weapons of the set. As with most weapons or pieces of glamour, gold personifies excellence, luxury, and success, all traits and perks of successfully clearing UCOB.
One of the standout features of the Ultimate Dreadwyrm weapons is the firework animation shooting off the edges, signifying the achievement of attaining the weapons. Samurai was a job that benefited from UCOB, with it receiving Ultimate Dreadwyrm Katana, a clean and slick weapon among the job’s best. Paladin’s Ultimate Dreadwyrm Blade and Shield sticks out among the weapon set, with the combination of black and gold creating a crisp look.

Dragonsong’s Reprise was the first ultimate to release in the highly anticipatedEndwalkerexpansion, with the raid living up to expectations. DSR involves facing off againstFinal Fantasy 14antagonist King Thordanin a grueling encounter. DSR produced the Ultimate Weapons of the Heavens set, which uses orange as its primary color. The DSR weapons are all incredibly bright and full of sparkle, more than any other ultimate weapon set. On some of the weapons, a tint of red is introduced, creating a unique color combination that stands out inFinal Fantasy 14.
Weapons that stand out in the set include the Ultimate Gunblade of the Heavens and the Ultimate Sickle of the Heavens. Both weapons are very striking due to the color scheme and animations creating a renegade effect suiting both classes of Gunbreaker and Reaper.

The Omega Protocol is the latest ultimate added into the game while being the 2nd ultimate of theEndwalkerexpansion. TOP’s weapons have one of the most unique designs among all the ultimate weapon sets, with particle effects appearing like glitches around the weapon. In contrast, the weapon enforces a color and animation change that makes the weapon have a purple aura over the weapon’s base color of white and black. Many weapons also include a unique spinning wheel animation around the handle, adding more detail to an already awe-inspiring ultimate weapon set.
The Paladin weapon Ultimate Omega Sword is a quality piece of glamour in part due to the clean look, especially in its black and white form. Other impressive weapons include Ultimate Omega Bow and Ultimate Omega Zaghnal, with both benefiting from the color and animation change, explicitly makingthe Reaper’s scythe, in particular, more stylish and unique.

TheShadowbringersexpansion brought forth several pieces of content, such as The Epic of Alexander ultimate raid, which produced some of the best weapon glamours inFinal Fantasy 14. With the whole fight’s theme being very mechanical, the Ultimate weapons follow suit, utilizing a cog as the vital animation design accompanied by a light gold color, giving the weapons a feeling of grandeur. TEA weapons also include an atmospheric and radiant energy force that is transcendent, unlike any weapon effect inFinal Fantasy 14.
Ultimate Nothung is one of the weapons available from the raid that takes advantage of the design, with the several gold cog wheels on the weapon looking ethereal and glorious, unlike any Dark Knight weapon in the game. Ranged DPS jobs such as Machinist and Dancer received tremendous weapons, with Ultimate Armageddon living up to the name. Meanwhile, Ultimate Twashtar includes a unique cross on each hand that looks slick, especially in gold.
