On Thursday, Square Enix held its Final Fantasy 7 25th Anniversary Celebration event. The event was packed full ofFinal Fantasy 7-related announcements, including the reveal ofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, aCrisis Core: Final Fantasy 7remaster, and more. To start off the event, however, Square Enix had a special announcement just for Steam PC gamers.Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, the complete version of Square Enix’s reboot ofFinal Fantasy 7, is leaving Epic Games Store exclusivity and coming to Steam.
The confirmation ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradefor Steam was only half of Square Enix’s announcement, though. It seemsSteamgamers won’t have to wait long for the game. In fact, they won’t have to wait at all. The other half of the announcement was the confirmation thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradeis coming to Steam tomorrow. It’s not quite a shadow drop, but Steam gamers likely won’t mind waiting a final 8 hours.

One other key confirmation that Square Enix went out of its way to make during itsFinal Fantasy 725th Anniversary Celebration revolves around Valve’s new handheld PC platform, the Steam Deck. Square Enix confirmed thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradehas beenSteam Deck verifiedfor its launch. Steam Deck users will be able to playFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradeas soon as it’s available to download.
As many PC fans ofFinal Fantasy 7already know,Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradehas been available on PC through theEpic Games Storefor several months now. Square Enix announced the port as part of The Game Awards 2021 and launched it before Christmas. What appears to have been a 6-month exclusivity window is now ending, though, and Steam users will finally get to experience the final chapter ofFinal Fantasy 7 RemakeIntergrade for themselves.
To help make up for the long wait, Square Enix is going to offer SteamFinal Fantasy 7fansa healthy discount to celebrate the game’s release on the platform. For the launch window ofFinal Fantasy 7 Intergradeon Steam, it’ll be discounted a healthy 29%. Steam users will appreciate that discount because the full version ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradecosts $69.99, the same price as the Epic Game Store and PS5 versions of the game.
Confirmation that a game already available on PC is coming to a new storefront may not be an announcement of a similar scale toFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but for dedicated Steam users it’s still a special occasion. It’s been a long wait forFinal Fantasy 7 Remaketo come to Steam and the day has finally arrived.
