It’s no secret thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeis packed full of small details and homages to the originalFinal Fantasy 7from 1997. One fan noticed an interesting detail on the Shinra benches that Cloud and company experience towards the end of the remake that shows just how much care was put into reimagining the classic JRPG.
Posted to the sub-Reddit r/FinalFantasy, Reddit user u/IncrediblyFunkyMunky showed off a picture of the Shinra benches and pointed out how inFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, they all have the save point logo from the original game printed on them. The detail is relatively small in the grand scheme of things so it makes sense why fans might have missed it on their initial playthrough, especially if they weren’t looking out for it.

The Shinra benches are essentially made up of three seats and the save point logo can be seen directly on the back of each chair in alternating colors, black and white. These can be found starting inChapter 16: The Belly of the Beastand throughout the rest of the game.
Final Fantasy 7 Remakefanshave also pointed out a similar detail on the regular blue benches found in every other section of the game. The original save point logo can be found on them in two places: on the top plank in the very center right where Cloud sits and also on the far left side. The leftmost logo is cut off a little bit due to the positioning of the planks, but it’s still clear that it’s the same logo.
Fans are waiting expectantly on news surrounding the second part ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, but they might be waiting a bit longer. The game recently received story DLC with theIntergradePS5 update, but there hasn’t been any word on when fans can expect the next full piece of the story. Some were hopeful that the game would be mentioned duringthe recent Square Enix presentations at Tokyo Game Show 2021, but it seems like the game might be going silent for a few months while it’s worked on.
That isn’t to say that the showcase was completely devoid of allFinal Fantasycontent, however, quite the opposite. While there was plenty of new things coming for fans of the franchise, the most notable portion of the showcase was thatmore details forStranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Originwere revealed alongside another demo for the upcoming spinoff title.
