During the roughly eight-year history ofDestinyandDestiny 2, it has become somewhat of the norm for leaks to get out ahead of major reveals and game updates to either tease or outright spoil Bungie’s newest content. It appears to be no different ahead of the nextDestiny 2reveal event set to air on August 23, which most of the game’s community believes will give them a first look at the next expansion. However, one of these many leaks isn’t about the game’s next expansion, but instead an upcoming crossover event withFortniteand the new armor guardians will be able to get their hands on.

The leak appeared on Twitter from user Ginsor, a well-known leaker within theDestinycommunity who has previously reported accurate information about previous seasons and expansions. They posted an image of the armor sets coming toDestiny 2as part of theFortnitecrossover, with one set going to each player class and being based on notableFortniteskins. Titans appear to be getting a Black Knight-inspired set, Warlocks' new armor will be based on the Drift skin, and an Omega-inspired armor set for Hunters.

Ginsor’s leak is one of multiple leaks to drop on social media teasing both the upcomingSeason 18 andDestiny 2’s next expansion,Lightfall, with many coming from Twitter user Josh Hunt. Leaks for Season 18 suggest it will be titled Season of the Plunder and center on the long-teased return of Eramis, King’s Fall being reprised, and the overall season being pirate-themed. As forLightfall, leaks suggest the expansion will see guardians battle Calus, travel to Neptune in search of an artifact The Witness desires, a new allied race, and the next subclass being named Strand.

As it relates to Ginsor’s leak, though, it is significant in its own right, as it marksDestiny 2’s first major crossover with another, non-Bungie game franchise.Fortnitehas been one of, if not, the biggest game in the world for the better part of five years and features crossover content with some of the biggest entertainment properties, includingStar Wars and Marvel. Given the new armor sets coming toDestiny 2, it won’t be surprising to see Epic Games reveal newDestiny-inspired skins forFortnitein the near future.

The various leaks also suggest theFortnitecrossover isn’t the only one Bungie has secured forDestiny 2, either. Additional leaks say there may be acrossover event withFall Guysin the very near future, though no additional information has been released at the time of this writing.

Destiny 2is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
