One such hit franchise isPirates of the Caribbean, and rumors that the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow and friends would soon drop anchor inFortnitebegan circulating earlier this year.
These rumors stemmed from aleakedFortnite2024 roadmapthat detailed Epic’s plans for its hit online battle royale title, which also contained references to Metallica, Doctor Doom, Karol G, and Snoop Dogg. Epic would later confirm that Jack Sparrow and otherPirates of the Caribbeancharacters would be coming toFortniteas part of the Cursed Sails Pass, but due to a slip-up, the crossover content went live prematurely this weekend. It was soon taken down, but players now know when they’ll be able to set sail with the legendary captain for real.

As noted by the FortniteStatus Twitter account, players whopurchased theFortniteCursed Sails passcould only access the Captain Jack Sparrow skin as it was impossible to progress the pass until it officially goes live on July 19. Anyone who unlocked the Jack Sparrow skin while the pass was leaked will be able to keep it, but those who wish to refund the outfit from the incomplete pass will be able to do so by reaching out to Epic’s Player Support Team.
Fortnite Cursed Sails Pass Release Date
Captain Jack Sparrow is only one of theplayablePirates of the Caribbeanskinsbeing added toFortnite. The upcoming Cursed Sails pass will also include skins based on Jack’s undead appearance from the end ofPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, as well as his famed allies Elizabeth Swann, his former first-mate-turned-enemy-turned-unlikely-ally Captain Hector Barbossa, and even the dreaded Davy Jones of The Flying Dutchman. Players will also be able to unlock Jack Sparrow’s Compass back bling, Jack Sparrow’s Sword pickaxe, 3 pirate-themed emotes, 4 Level Up Tokens, and a Banner Icon.
The Cursed Sails content will also include LEGO versions of the aforementionedPirates of the Caribbeancharacters foruse inLEGO Fortnite. Like most ofFortnite’s special event passes, Cursed Sails will only be available for a limited time after it goes live on July 19, and players will have to unlock each reward by completing quests to earn Cursed Gold and Map Pieces. TheFortniteCursed Sails pass itself will cost 1,000 V-Bucks.
