Fortnitestarted its third season of Chapter 5 on May 24. While the new season has generally received praise, many players have become frustrated with thepowerful vehicles inFortnite. Vehicles now have several options for mods that can be seen as overpowered, especially when coupled with their health regeneration abilities.

On May 30, Epic Games released a hotfix toFortnitethat changed several things about vehicles. The Boom Bolt weapon, which has been instrumental indealing with vehicles on foot inFortnite, had its damage increased to cars. Vehicles under the effects of the new nitro mechanic have had their turret fire rates reduced. Machine gun turrets on cars had their accuracy reduced, and a vehicle’s overall health was reduced in solos. Nitro Gauntlets have also been nerfed, with an extra 3 seconds being added for them to recharge.
Dataminers recently leaked an in-developmentheavy sniper inFortnitethat deals extra damage to vehicles. The heavy sniper is currently missing some sound effects but may be arriving in the game soon. Players currently can’t do much against multiple vehicles on foot, so more weapons that deal extra damage to vehicles may level the playing field.
