TheSuper Marioseries has been a household namefor more than 40 years, with the very firstMario Bros. title released as an arcade game in 1983. Though the plumber brothers and their adventures across the Mushroom Kingdom became more mainstream a couple of years later with the release ofSuper Mario Bros. for the NES, Mario Day itself doesn’t actually take place on the release anniversary of either of these games. Instead, theSuper Mariofranchise is celebrated universally on March 10 every year, due to the date resembling the plumber’s name when shortened.

Though plenty of creative fans have taken to celebrating the occasion in their own ways, one fan has shared some beautiful cross-stitched designs featuring theiconic cast of characters from throughout theSuper Marioseries, as well as a few enemies and power-up items.
