The open world of miHoYo’s ARPGGenshin Impactis full of many mysteries to discover, and players continue to find these hidden details. OneGenshin Impactplayer has found a clever trick that gets them a free Common Chest with just a bit of patience required.
Reddit user Belle_fleures recently posted a clip of theirGenshin Impactadventure in which they’re exploring the Golden Apple Archipelago, which is part of the Summertime Odyssey event. Players have about a month to explore the Golden Apple Archipelago during the event to find the many chests that dot the new map. In addition to loot from these chests, players can also acquire a free four-starGenshin ImpactFischlskin, plenty of energy orbs, and more freebies by taking part in the summer event.

Located on Fischl’s Island there is a Night Raven Miner that moves along a short track to turn a lantern back on if aGenshin Impactplayer puts it out for whatever reason. Belle_fleures has discovered a way to get a free chest from this Night Raven Miner by repeatedly darkening his work area by dimming the nearby lantern. After about three times of turning this lantern onGenshin Impact’s Fischl Island off, this Night Raven Miner says, “Alright already! Here, take these stuff, and stop bothering me!” which adds more humor to the normally action-packed adventure in theGolden Apple Archipelago.
Because it’s aGenshin ImpactCommon Chest, this trick will only reward players with Primogems, Sigils, Mora, XP material, and other goodies that offer minor improvements. Belle_fleures acquired the free Common Chest by playing asGenshin Impact’s Arataki Itto, but it’s likely that any playable hero can annoy the Night Raven Miner to the point that it rewards them as well. Because the Golden Apple Archipelago will be unlocked until the next update at the end of August, more players may discover hidden places and secret tricks like this before the conclusion ofGenshin Impactupdate 2.8.
