God of War Ragnarok’s gameplay is laced with brutal combat, interesting puzzles, and a few environmental blocks. The latter is designed to encourage replayability inGod of War Ragnarok, as players will need to return to some areas after unlocking certain weapons or abilities to destroy these blocks. Players will encounter red-flowered brambles early on, but they will not be able to get by them.
God of War Ragnarokplayers will be able to solve some puzzles and environmental blocks by throwing theLeviathan Axeor burning them with the Blades of Chaos. Players will easily be able to burn some brambles encountered in the game, but as they progress, they will find brambles that have red flowers on them. The game designates these as Heavy Vines, and they cannot be destroyed like those before them.

Players will return to certainrealms as part ofGod of War Ragnarok’s storyor while completing side quests, engaging in endgame content, and so on. Sometimes players will cross these brambles later in the game, but it should be noted that players will see these brambles before they can destroy them. Until they receive a certain arrow type, players should know they cannot do anything about them and move on.

God of War Ragnarok: How to Destroy Heavy Vines
After a certain story point inGod of War Ragnarok, they’ll unlock a new arrow type known as Sigil Arrows. Atreus will receive these arrows afterward, too. These arrows have a purple color to them in the game and can be used effectively in combat, in puzzles, and to clear environmental blocks. Sigil Arrows are required to destroy purple Heavy Vines. Once players encounter these from now on or revisit past locations, they will be able to use these arrows to generate Sigils. Each Sigil Arrow, when fired at bramble or nearby places, will create a giant circle. Striking these head-on with the Blades of Chaos empower their flames, enabling them to burn these brambles.
Sometimes, players will be able to destroy these special brambles with one Sigil Arrow; other times, players will need to closely string together three arrows to be able to reach the bramble. Once they’ve done that, they’ll need to use theBlades of Chaoson the Sigil or the closest Sigil in a row, which will transfer the fire to the Brambles, thus burning them down.
