Compared to his original loadout earlier inGotham Knights,Mecha Freezeis a far more dangerous foe with the ability to flash freeze huge areas and a much more menacing appearance. He’s out to freeze all of Gotham, so players will need to put his plans on ice.
How To Beat Mecha Freeze
Mecha Freeze towers over the arena in his spider-like mechanical monstrosity, and he uses it to great effect in melee whilst also firing frost missiles. His frost missiles are fired from a launcher on his left, which will move to point upwards before he starts the attack. The attack also causes his hexagonal target indicators to appear on the ground, usually appearing at the player’s location when he begins the attack and extending in a line to either side of the player. These can be avoided by dodging backward or forward out of the targeted area.
He also makes use of the spider legs on the front of the mech to stab at enemies in front of him, which is indicated by him raising one leg into the air and a red target indicator briefly appearing under his target. Players should dodge out of the target area immediately as each strike also creates ice spikes in that immediate area dealing extra damage and inflicting ice elemental buildup. He can sometimes repeat the motion a second time to immediately throw out an extra attack without much delay, so players should stay on their toes after the first strike in case Freeze strikes again.

Another dangerous attack, though fortunately one that is well-telegraphed, is a ground pound. Freeze begins this attack by rearing the mech up on its back legs, before slamming down and creating a shockwave that travels forward, inflicting damage and ice buildup on anyone caught in its path.Dodging backward or forwards is a bad idea here, but moving to either side of the mech to avoid the forward shockwave makes it relatively easy to avoid.
The front legs of the mech can be disabled if struck enough times in quick succession, and disabling multiple legs can leave Mecha Freeze vulnerable to attack for a short time. Ranged attacks are perfectly capable of disabling legs, but taking down multiple at once will necessitate the usage of AOE skills and/or precise positioning and movement when playing solo.

After Mr. Freeze loses a third of his health he’ll leap up onto the wall of the arena and begin a barrage of ranged attacks. He starts by firing several volleys of ice missiles, which function identically to the ones he was firing earlier in the fight and can be dodged the same way. He’ll then charge up his cryogun for a beam attack. Dodge out of the targeting line’s path and keep moving until the beam disappears becauseFreeze will move the beam to follow the player for a short time after firing. He repeats this attack twice before trying to leave in a cutscene, resulting in a change in locale for the remainder of the fight.
With the water around the prison frozen solid, the battle resumes in a new icy arena outside the prison. Mecha Freeze retains his moves from the first phase of the fight but adds a few dangerous new tricks. Sometimes Freeze will have the mech stand up straighter on its legs before firing a burst of missiles, striking in a line ahead of the mech after a very short delay. These can be avoided by moving to the left or right before they land, but leave behind ice spikes on the ground that deal damage and inflict ice buildup when touched, so players will need to stay away from those spots until they vanish.

Freeze will also use an attack that appears to target the entire arena, with the game displaying a red warning saying “GRAPPLE AWAY.” Players should take this advice and find a perch to grapple to around the edge of the arena, staying there until the attack ends. This alsoprovides a fantastic opportunity to hit Mecha Freeze with an aerial attackwhile returning to the fight. Another dangerous attack from Freeze during this phase of the fight is a charged beam attack similar to the one used at the end of the previous phase, which he will move to try to follow the player after starting to fire, though it moves slowly and can be outrun by sprinting to the left or right.
Mr. Freeze repeats his trick from before once he loses another 1/3 of his health, leaping up onto one of the walls of the arena and firing off volleys of missiles before firing ice beams from the Cryogun. Once he returns to the arena a group of Regulators enters the fight to back him up. The same tactics as before apply and his moveset is unchanged from the previous phase, so keep hammering away until the ice cracks and the battle ends.
