Going down as some of thebest games of the PlayStation 2 era,GTA 3,Vice City, andSan Andreasare beloved entries in Rockstar’s long-standing series, taking things to new heights in the open-world genre. It’s just a shame the remasters from a couple of years ago weren’t as well received.
As controversial as this “Definitive Edition” was, Rockstar and developer Grove Street Games have tried to undo some of the damage done and worked to make all three games a lot better. With theGrand Theft AutoTrilogynow available on Steamand even Steam Deck verified, there are at least additional opportunities to play this modern take on these classics.

For anyone who uses Epic Games, not only is theGrand Theft Auto Trilogyavailable on the storefront, but it’s also at a reduced price for the time being. Listed at 50% off, this sale will end on February 23, so those who want to get it for less don’t have a huge amount of time to act. Given that Grove Street has been working diligently to fix the most egregious issues with each of the games, it’s possible that this version may be in a much better state. However, time will tell on that front as more fans see fit to download it while it’s currently going cheap.
For those who are out of the loop, theGTA Trilogyis a remastering of the beloved early-2000sGrand Theft Autogames, which aimed to bring these classics into the modern era with improved graphics and lighting. Unfortunately, the initial release was plagued with a laundry list of glitches that caused an outcry in the community. It was considered by many to beone of the worst games of 2021. While the developer has made progress in terms of fixing major bugs, fans are still understandably hesitant about purchasing the remaster.
WithGrand Theft Auto 6still in developmentbut no word on when it will come out, gamers have been waiting a long time for a follow-up to the enormously successful fifth entry. Now that theTrilogyis on Epic Games, maybe more people will be willing to give the remaster a go.
