343 Industries has continued to work on improvements toHalo Infiniteas Season 2: Lone Wolves continues to maintain a dedicated community with a new battle pass and more. OneHalo Infinitemultiplayer fan recently captured the precise moment in which a rat is accidentally killed while approaching a fallen player.
Reddit user Jus512 shared an occurrence in one of their multiplayer matches on the Streets map from a few days ago that they think is one of the saddest moments inHalo Infinitethus far. The Streets mapis part of theHalo InfiniteArena playlist, and it has a small layout with little nooks Spartans can hide in to dodge enemy fire. As Jus512’s match of Streets proceeds, they are killed, and a delayed grenade is thrown near their corpse which bounces around and ultimately leads to the death of the aforementioned rat.

ManyHalo Infinitefans are lamenting the loss of the rat in Jus512’s clip which some have dubbed theHalo 3rat due to its low-resolution appearance compared to the rest of the environment. Jus512’s video begins with the player losing a firefight with a melee attack combined with some pistol shots as they tried to defend the middle capture zone of Streets. A grenade is thrown through the window towards Jus512’s body, and as their Spartan lays there waiting for respawn elsewhere ontheHalo Infinitemap, sad piano music kicks in while the small rat approaches the body to escape the blast of a grenade but fails to avoid it.
After Jus512’s enemy jumps out a nearby window, the grenade deflects off a few surfaces before exploding, and the rat is destroyed in dramatic fashion as Jus512 has added “bro are you ok?” text before a variation of the infamous Craig meme. Nothing remains of the rat beyond it momentarily turning to a bloody mess from the explosion, and the only thing left in the blast radius is a tire that rolls across the room during the last few seconds of the video. Jus512’s clip concludes before the Spartan respawns, causing the screen to fade to black after zooming in on theHalo InfiniteCraig memewhich combines with the piano keys to emphasize the emotion of the player and much of the over 7,000 Redditors that liked the recording.
Although many of the responses to Jus512’sHalo Infinitevideo express enthusiasm or sadness, some fans are simply shocked by the result of the otherwise ineffective grenade toss. While a handful ofHalofansutilized the opportunity to bring up other sad moments from the franchise, several others remain confident in Jus512’s clip being the most emotional.
Halo Infiniteis available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
