Twitchfans will probably be unsurprised to learn that Amouranth has retained her spot as the platform’s most watched female streamer. However, 2022 saw some shakeups to the top ten lineup, withone of the platform’s VTubershaving a particularly impressive year.

Women have traditionally struggled to surpass the viewership of their male counterparts onTwitch, with none breaking the platform’s overall top ten. For example, the number one streamer xQc earned over 224.45 million hours watched in 2022, with none of Twitch’s female streamers breaking 33 million. Still, while there are multiple explanations for this disparity, the gap has been closing, and its presence doesn’t diminish the hours that many of Twitch’s female streamers are putting in.

According to StreamsCharts, Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is once again the most popular female streamer on Twitch, with around 32.06 million hours watched. VTuber Ironmouse scored the number two spot, with 20.39 million hours watched. This pushes last year’s number two saddummy back to third place with 14.89 million hours watched. She was followed by jinnytty and 39daph with 13.66 million and 12.82 million hours. Pokimane, 2021’s third most-watched woman on Twitch, slipped to sixth place with 12.28 million. Meanwhile, Rivers_gg follows close behind with 12.22 million. Kyedae, Shylily, and dda_ju round out the bottom of the list at 11.46 million, 11.25 million, and 10.61 million.

As in 2021, Amouranth holds a decisive lead over the next most popular female Twitch streamer. However, that is at least partly explained by how much time the two women spent live on camera. Amouranth streamed for 3,645 hours and 20 minutes, compared to Ironmouse’s 2,035 hours and fifteen minutes. This is about 8,700 views per hour for Amouranth, compared to a little over 10,000 for Ironmouse. Therefore, it stands to reason that Ironmouse could close the gap if she streamed as much as Amouranth did. However, consideringAmouranth’s long hours were reportedly pushed by an abusive husband, it’s hard to envy her position too much.

A cutback in her hours spent on camera also explains why Imane “Pokimane” Anys dropped from 20.5 million hours in 2021 to “only” 12.28 million in 2022.Pokimane took a break from streaming back in July, and the OfflineTV member is spending less time on the platform overall. She also recently tweeted that she’d be spending even less time on Twitch and YouTube in 2023, so fans probably shouldn’t expect Pokimane’s viewership to make a big comeback this year.
